On the flip side, I believe that McNabb will bring some stability under center.
And that the "pass-heavy" offense of the last two years will now be more balanced with the run.

Hate to break it to you, amigo, but I've done tons of research on why the run isn't that important. It isn't. An elite RB doesn't make a difference in a team's record. D is #1. QB is #2.

On the contrary, my research said that elite RBs actually HURT the team as they take too many carries away from the passing game.

Enjoy your losing record VR. For the record, you guys were my 2nd favorite team when you had Brett. Now you don't and I'll be back to rooting against you. Won't take much effort as when McNabb goes down in week 10, you'll lose 5 of your last 6 remaining games.

(Of course I'm not rooting for McNabb to get hurt. I don't do that. I actually like McNabb. But I also like Cullen Jenkins and knew that the reason Ted & Mike weren't high on Jenkins was that he's injury prone. So is McNabb).

Aaron Rodgers has been injured quite a few times in his much shorter career....
Broken foot
Hamstring
Shoulder
Ribs
Ankle
Concussion(s)

With that train of thought in mind (from you and Slick).....should Aaron Rodgers (90% of Packers offense) go down in say week 5....

You guys can pretty much be guaranteed a top 5 draft pick in 2012.

The reason your research says the run isn't all that important is because the NFL rules heavily favors offenses, especially QBs and WRs. So of course your research is gonna come out like it has. But if you were completely right.. Then tell me this: Why hasn't a single NFL team run the spread offense instead of some variation of the West Coast? I mean, if the run isn't important, then why do sooo many teams even have a power I formation?

I respect that you put insight, effort and study into the game. But as a fan of the sport of football, I cannot except your research in whole.

One can read this many different ways.. I choose to read it within the confines of my estimate the McNabb was soft to begin with and is only progressing down that path.

Basically the pressure to prove himself was too great... couldn't handle it.

I have a bad " (good for Packers) that the McNabb experience in MN is going to end in a ball of flames. Yes Nick.. I will take that bet.

AP better have a career year.

Unappreciated  at times and ultimately traded out of Philly before having a one-year detour to D.C. go about as badly as it could have, new Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb arrives in Minnesota sans shoulder chip.

ā€œI’ve moved past that whole ā€˜something to prove’ deal,ā€ McNabb told the media, via a transcript circulated by the team. ā€œFor me, it’s about going out there, being who I am and doing what I do. That’s what Leslie [Frazier] wants and that’s what the team wants with expectations of me being the guy they’ve seen over the years in trying to lead this team. Any time you get into that chip on the shoulder, trying to prove that I can do this and I can do that, it takes away from what you’re capable of doing and who you are as a player, as well as a person. I’ve been through that and I’m not going there anymore.ā€

So if he's a teary-eyed, limp-wristed loser, that's okay, so long as he goes out there and is sure to "be himself"? Cute, in a T-ball sort of way.

I think Donovan McNabb will have a couple good games. I just don't think he's the answer and as you said, he's been accused of being soft and now he doesn't feel he needs to prove himself? Sounds to me like a guy who's just collecting a paycheck.
