DirecTV bases their local channels on your zip code.

HYPOTHETICALLY speaking, could one who lives in Colorado give, say, a Green Bay zip code and get the Green Bay locals?

Yes sir, it's the installation address, which, hypothetically, if you know the installer, can be changed.

If I were living in Colorado, I'd rather be getting the Green Bay local's over say, the Colorado locals.

I was just hypothetically curious if it was that easy ... as in changing the installation address and poof, you get those locals.

If I were living in Colorado, I'd rather be getting the Green Bay local's over say, the Colorado locals.

DirecTV uses "spot beam" transponders. Spot beams allow DirecTV to re-use the same transponders by aiming them at specific cities rather than covering the whole country.

Bottom line, you will not be able to receive other locals outside of their spot beam area.

Sorry already tried.
