It is more likely that the team would build a domed stadium and move to St Paul before Driver is cut this year.

Chillar is gone. Barnett most likely traded but I think they will end up with a 5-6 round pick for him.
Tauscher retires. Poppinga cut.
Harrolle makes the team.
P Lee gone.

hey, i love Driver, good character, good career.

but he has a big contract and i don't think he can play up to it anymore, and I want rodgers to be surrounded by the most talented players Ted can gather.

if he can get back to 900-1k range, and resolve his drops, i will be happy.

still alot of money for a reciever on the downside if his career though.

Jennings, Nelson, Cobb will make the team. No one knows about Jones. Let's say he signs with GB again.

If Driver is cut that leaves Swain, Robinson and West. Which one are you saying is better than Driver IF he indeed has diminished skills as you suggest? If Jones takes off for greener pastures, and you know Teddy will not get into a bidding war for players, which two are better than Donald?

Ted may ask Donald to renegotiate his contract, also something I don't see happening THIS YEAR but he won't outright cut Driver.

or hell, Finley is for all purposes a WR too.

just saying, if during the course of the season, or when it is done, and we see Driver slowing down, his cap number could be better spent elsewhere.

and this may have well just been a "down" year for DD, but history says that when older WRs drop below the 1K mark, especially by 400 yards, they usually don't have alot left to offer.

age + cap + low production = something needs to be done.
if this were any other player that did not have such a legacy in GB, you bet he'd take a cut or be cut.

I think Thompson is going to do his normal thing.... which is to resign Packers and maybe one guy who's not a huge name from another team, and let the guys he has compete, unless someone demand to be cut and/or are a problem in the lock room then he might do something. He also tagged and trade Williams... but he didn't tag anyone this year (which he could of tagged Jenkins).

The only one I see being a real difference is Barnett (and maybe Tausher). Can Barnett emotional handle not being on the 1st team? Which MM made it sound like Bishop and Hawk would be starting on 1st team when they came back in training camp. As for Tausher I think that will be kept behind closed doors unless the Packers want to move on and he want to keep playing then we'll hear about him get cut and looking for a new team but it will be pretty quite still.

I do think some of those players will be cut when it's time to go down to 53 guys, but it will because there is good young talent with more potential that can keep up with them. Not just because their contracts.

If he doesn't then let him go. If he does, he will make it worth keeping him around for a while.

It is probable the production slip was from the injuries not slowing down. However, that could be masking a slowing down. There is also no way to tell if the the injuries are because of age or just because of football.

This year and maybe this pre season will tell.

1) Barnett
2) Chillar
3) Poppinga

We'll likely only keep one, and that's the order of preference. I'm guessing that we won't get a knock-our-socks-off trade offer for Barnett, and that we'll wind up cutting Chillar and Poppinga so that we can pay him.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
    Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
    Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
    Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
    Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
