Barnett, Poppinga, and Tauscher are the obvious candidates to be cut; but would Brandon Chillar be on the list too? I still hold out hope that we can squeeze either a draft pick or reserve OLB for Barnett, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Tausher could be given an assistant coach position at anytime, but I don't see him playing anymore.

The only one of those guys I would like to see cut is Poppinga. He's not a 3-4 OLB. Justin Harrell needs to be cut too.

I would like to see Barnett traded if they can get something decent for him, or kept if they feel he's not going to be a distraction(I would trust TT's judgement here).

I think Tauch gets the chance to try out, and it will be up to him to decided if he wants to give it another go or retire. He could make the final roster but end up on IR again, I dont think its too likely he will be cut.

Chillar provides good ILB/OLB depth and options for sub-packages, and doesn't cost too much to keep, he shouldn't be cut if healthy.

I think they will hang onto Chillar. He's a very good backup. Barnett will be gone one way or another. I think they can get a mid-round draft pick for him.

Well these are guys who can play, so they might bring them to camp and use them if someone else goes down with an injury. Although Harrell, Barnett and Chillar could be cut for cap room.

I wouldn't be too hopeful on Chillar he is coming back from a chronic shoulder injury and due around 2m I think. With the cap coming back he may not be a lock for a roster spot.

I could see Barnett being worth at least a late round pick to some team because he has produced in 4-3 and 3-4.

I would like Mark to get into coaching / player relations type.. he has by all accounts been a solid teammate and would serve the Packers name well.

I think Nick's contract / log jam at ILB / cap restriction will more than likely catch up to him.. if so.. I wish him nothing but the best. Been a very good player for the Packers.. just I believe always been a slot out of position.

Poppinga and Chillar should be allowed to walk and find themselves another job..

Pat Lee... although I think he might be given cap to make an impact.

cut:

Barnett
Poppinga
Tausher
Grant(after the season unless he takes a cut)
Driver [stupid]

---

Chillar becomes top backup, and deserves a decent contract.

Cut DRIVER!?!?
I don't think so.
He's proven himself as a team leader who gives his all.
He's getting old, but i truely think he's got one more good year in him. Plus, one injury, and we may wish we would have kept him. He knows the system, and isn't afraid to go over the middle.

If they cut Barnett and Chillar's shoulder doesn't recover adequately from his 3rd surgery on it, that leaves us pretty thin at ILB.

I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
