Think Bell KNOWS why they aren't giving him one? Maybe he did something.

If you look at the photo, the ball was thrown in the perfect spot. No way to defend that pass. There were a lot of other plays that happened during that drive that the defense as a whole fell down on. The score is on the entire unit not just Bell. But the team got their revenge and then some in Texas in 2011. 👍 Bet the Vikings and their fans can never had said that. [roflmao]

Totally off topic, but out of curiosity, I want to ask a question that picture always raises for me: It is often said that that pass was thrown perfectly, and that there was no way Bell could have defended it. Why is that? It is probable that in order to have tipped the pass away, he would have had to be in such a position that his feet were out of bounds. Would it have been illegal for him to defend the pass if he were out of bounds?

or if he was about a foot and a half forward. The pass is indefensible at his current position yes, but had he had better positioning, easy. You can say that about everything though 😉

How so? Al Harris was a fixture in the Packers secondary for quite a few years. Josh Bell played one, maybe two seasons of spot duty at best?

Once upon a time, I seem to remember reading that it was the players who decided who got rings. Not just the admin.

And if so, does that change things at all with respect to the rightness/wrongness of Bell not getting one?
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

BUT it's unfair to move one guy, because for every action there is a reaction and if Bell was in front of the WR like suggested then Big Ben would of thrown a deeper pass throwing away from Bell just like he did in the first place.

The point of a good pass is to throw it where your guy can get it but the other team can't and the best way to do that is throw to the opposite side of defender which is what Big Ben did... Bell was on the back inside, Ben Big threw it to the front inside.

Bell played it very well for being one on one and with all the time he had to cover. The problem with that play is he shouldn't of been one on one... Bigby didn't come over to help at all... in that nickel zone coverage with the very limited time left Bigby should of had the back inside part of that zone (unless they called something special... but I didn't see the reason to call something special) and Bell should of had the front outside (outside because of the the limited time left... other wise the inside would of been better).

In that position of no help over the top I think Bell had two options, try to play man coverage which he did for a little while before switching to the other choice of playing deep inside which it would means the WR would have to beat him or Big Ben would need a very good past to the front outside (which he did). So yes Bell gave up the Touch Down... but he was in very good position. It's simple that a great throw and placement by both the QB and WR beats good position coverage.

Porky, I would agree with you except for the injury settlement offer, which indicated that they did not intend to keep Bell on the team and wanted to cut the strings. Al Harris was different--team was interested in keeping him and wasn't offering him an injury settlement at the beginning of the season.

I think the organization needs to be the better man in this case. They usually correct their mistakes, so I suspect they will.
