Man.......now the republicans say they are going to put up 'fake" democrats to slow down the recall process. Then the democrats are whining how it's infantile and slowing down the process which is bad for the voters, and how slowing down the government process is wrong.
OK......how about the democrats that ran to Illinois to stop the government process for weeks?
How was that ok, but what the reps are doing is some huge "sin?"

I've just about given up on both sides. They both do the same thing, and act like they are "holier then thou".
Anyone else feel this way?

I keep reminding myself of two things:

1. To go into politics means you have to have more of a predisposition to want to make others do what you want.

State action works through coercion. Whenever someone says "there oughta be a law," it means they want to make others obedient to their values. The default action of a politician is to pass a law. To coerce others into doing what they wouldn't do otherwise.

I recognize that coercion is sometimes necessary. But to me it has to remain last resort, not a first. Most politicians see it the opposite.

Which means, to me, they're a lower life form. By default. It's their individual burden, not mine, to show me otherwise, by showing the degree of their willingness to forebear from unnecessary rule-making and coercion. And until they do, I'm going to think of them as leeches and scumbags.

Whatever their party affiliation might be.

2. Voting "none of the above" IS a legitimate option. It is not my moral obligation to consent to a choice between the lesser of evils just because the system, the power-mongerers, or my ignorant neighbors can't find decent candidates to put on ballots.

None of my fellow citizens has an inalienable right to have me consent to governance by lower life forms.

And anyone who insists otherwise can, well, kiss my ass. 😝

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Politics will always be frustrating if you believe everything in the Milwaukee Journal. The "fake" candidate thing is really a fake spin job by the newspaper. Join some grassroots outfits Cheesey and get some grass stains on your pants. Then you'll know what's really happpening versus what's printed in the rag.

What's frustrating is people believing everything in the Milwaukee Journal.

My problem with politics is not the corrupt men and women, paid for by PAC's, that bothers me. I accept that as a given. The part of politics that bothers me is the sheep that follow their parties' position without even thinking about the issues themselves. And the other part of that are the sheep that blame the other party for everthing, when their leaders are in bed with the same PAC's who control the government.

Now, I definitely have my hangups about point of taxation and the wealthy continuously allowed to pass on their wealth tax free. But I believe every person should be given 18 years of free life, and then kicked out on their own to make their way in this world. We talk about the "pussification" of America alot in here. Well, parents that give their kids the free ride are the biggest offenders of this "pussification".

Where is this 90% coming from? One side wants 25% and the other wants to go back to the Clinton tax rates. The two positions seem pretty clear to me.

Politics is all ideological now. Wasn't John F. Kennedy a conservative democrat in some ways? He cut taxes. Tax rates under Dwight Eisenhower were ridiculously high, but he balanced the budget. That thought must turn the tea party or republicans grey. Oh wait... :-"

The idea that that nobody can differ on one or any particular issue from talk radio personalities scares me. You have to bleed an ideology. That is the problem. Romeny is too liberal for Rush Limbaugh because he believes in climate change. It's one issue and he can't be the nominee.

Right now, Democrats are recalling Republicans and they might do it successfully. What happens when the Republicans decide to recall Democrats? They're opening up pandora's box because they see a political opportunity based on ideology. Whatever happen to common sense?
