With our Pro Football Talk “days without an arrest” meter at 12 and climbing, our friends at College Football Talk can reset theirs. And today’s arrest of a college football player has an NFL connection.
Nate Montana, the quarterback son of Joe Montana who transferred from Notre Dame to the University of Montana this year, has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested shortly after 4 a.m. in Missoula.
After playing in three games for Notre Dame last season, Nate Montana surveyed the depth chart, saw himself among six quarterbacks on the roster, and decided his best chance to get on the field was to transfer to a I-AA school.
Montana is due in Missoula Justice Court at 2:30 p.m. local time Friday.
