There's several differences between the teams of this year and last year. The biggest one is injuries.

We have a new QB. I believe our FB has been changed between Kuhn and Hall. James Jones hasn't started every game as he did the season prior.

QB - First year starter at QB instead of the best QB to ever play.

RB - Grant missed camp and had an injury. No Vernand Morency this season.

FB - I think we had Hall from the get go last season. This year it's been Kuhn/Hall with Lee in the back too sometimes.

WR - Jennings missed two games last year, none this year. James Jones has missed something like six or seven games this year though.

TE - No Bubba Franks but that might be an improvement. D Lee has played all games.

OL - Gosh, I think we shuffled the OL last year just as much. However this year I think we've had more injuries on the line.

DL - Jenkins, IR. Williams, traded.

LB - Barnett, IR. Hawk slowed by injury for a game or two and also was used minimally in a game due to injury.

DB - Bigby missed many games as well as Rouse missed a few due to injuries.

P - Last year Ryan sucked, this year Frost sucks more.

K - Last year Crosby made the 53 yarder to win the game, this year he missed it.

Any thing I'm missing or needs correcting? I'm think this team is a little more different than most people want to believe when some thought is actually put into it. Not to mention the teams were playing against present several different matchups that make it harder and/or easier to come out on top.

thanks for finally posting an in-depth look into the roster changes. maybe it will make people stfu about it either being ALL because of a certain guy that we won OR those who want to blame that certain guy for certain losses. sheesh people - it takes a friggin TEAM!!! i don't think that was more clearly displayed than today at lambeau. if people can't understand what's smackin them right in the face, they don't know football...period! 😃

hah ... it was Terry Bradshaw's comments earlier today that sparked this. Some naive individuals feel that we only have on new player on our team and that we're as healthy as we were the prior year. That's simply not the case. We were lucky as crap last year and we caught several teams at the right time. ie, Chargers, Giants, Eagles, etc. That's not to discredit those win's by any means, but each of those teams were far better later in the season than when we played them. Obviously since the Giants won the SB and I believe the Chargers were in the AFC championship game.

Oh we have a new holder and long snapper too. Not sure what that matters, but it just clicked in, lol.

I wonder how much it helps for teams to have another season of tape on us too? Although it should be noted that teams typically only go back to the last four games.

Couple notes from what I can remember

RB - Grant didn't start the first half of last year... so in a way that is similar to this year with him being slowed by injuries (not having Grant at a serviceable level).

WR - Ruvell Martin is also hurt this year which sucks. No KoRo. Jordy Nelson has played well

TE - Jermichael Finley here to complain :p

OL - specifically missing wells for awhile hurt. He seems to have hit his stride though because I can't recall him getting beat or having any penalties unlike a number of our lineman

DB - Nick Collins and Al Harris have also been injuried for spells, though Collins has played through almost all of them. Chuckie Woodson also had to play on a broken foot but he's Jesus reincarnate so it didn't effect him.

Edit: Good post Zero :thumbright:

Broken toe, not broken foot. Let's not exaggerate here 😛

I think you also have to acknowledge the injury to Rodgers shoulder.

It was Troy Aikman last week (I think) that said Rodgers told him it's been a difficult injury to play with.

And if McCarthy is to be believed, the missed practice time has also negatively hurt Rodgers.

True true, but I think our old QB played nicked up as well. Although I don't believe he missed any practice time.

The more I think about this same team as last year, the more differences I'm finding.

Common people get real and face the facts. There is only one reason GB is only 5-5 this year:

Geoff Jenkins is not playing for the Brewers anymore.

dang zero

penalties!!

7.8 per game this year.......71 yards per game this year

7.0 per game last year....62.8 yards per game last year

I know it doesnt seem like a lot, but they seem to be at the worse times this year

beast (7h) : What is he supposed to say? He doesn't want players currently on the team?
Martha Careful (12h) : meh
Zero2Cool (16h) : Sounds like Walker and Wyatt will be with Packers for beyond 2026
Zero2Cool (16h) : It's so awesome.
Zero2Cool (16h) : new site fan shout post fast
wpr (19h) : Slow posting in Fan shout.
wpr (19h) : Only 4
wpr (19h) : Only 4
Zero2Cool (22h) : If only we had a topic to read about and discuss it. That's something new website must have!!!
dfosterf (23h) : Justice Musqueda over at Acme Packing put up an excellent synopsis of the Packers 1st round options this am
wpr (19-Apr) : 5 days
beast (18-Apr) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
