I'm going to offer the Packers a hometown discount on ($1,000,000/year) creating a successful forum for their site and moderate it under the same financial umbrella. What you say? That's not a discount? Why yes it is, because I'd charge any other team triple that much!

I hate to see great players who still have a few great years left in the tank leave in free agency.

Why? Whom has Ted Thompson released and gone on to have a great career elsewhere?

Yeah, Darren Sharper won a Super Bowl, but his fame always rested more on his gaudy ballhawking than his fundamental soundness as as defender. The only other players I can come up with are Jon Ryan and Ryan Longwell, but if a couple of special-teams specialists are the best examples anyone can come up with, I would say it is not a compelling argument.

Ryan Longwell left because he wanted to finish his career in a controlled climate. Outdoors in the south or an indoor stadium, there was no keeping him.

Jon Ryan was extremely inconsistent. He could boom one 60 yards or shank one 13 yards. Moving on from him was the right thing to do. Well, if the Packers would have just let Jon Ryan punt how HE wanted to, the Packers should have kept him, but since they were content on changing his style, that's why he was inconsistent. That's just my opinion on why he was inconsistent.

I can't think of many whom left the Packers to achieve great success. Darren Sharper I think he left because he was fed up with the Packers as a staff. He took less money with the Vikings.

I'm really struggling to throw up any name not mentioned already that the Packers let go, I guess maybe Brett Favre, but I'm not sore about that one.

Mike Wahle had highly productive years in Carolina.

Corey Williams, when used properly like he was with the Lions is a very good player. That said.. he was traded not released.

Hunter Hilenmeyer. (sp?) But he was a cut rookie.

But overall.. slim pickin's.

Burt Farv! :blackeye:

Also, Jenkins was complaining about the team not approaching him last year or even in February. However, up until March it appeared Jolly could have been available, and the team hasn't been able to speak to Cullen since the most recent issues w/ Jolly. Thus, the team's position on Cullen back in February may not be reflective of where they stand now, and the Packers can't communicate that to CJenk or his agent.

I assume you mean, Brett Favre? I mentioned him too, failing to realize he was traded. Oops.

Hillenmeyer, iirc was under Sherman and he was relegated to practice squad. They wanted to develop him for a year first, but the Bares nabbed him.
