Cobb in a way reminds me of Percy Harvin, whom I like a lot.

Me too. I was clamoring for the Packers to draft Percy Harvin, thinking he would probably go in the 2nd round. Alas, he went in the first round, and all we got was B.J. Raji and Clay Matthews III instead -- and then didn't pick again till the 4th round. Ted Thompson sucks.

Harvin is an awesome talent, and I don't even care if he needs to hooch up to rid himself of migranes. If Cobb can even be 70% of Harvin, I'm going to be very happy.

The only potential problem with the bolded strategy: I don't think Cullen has the same depth of feeling about changing teams that Clifton had. It could just be public posturing/negotiating on his part, but my sense is that he's more than a little upset about the way the team has approached re-signing him to this point. A free agent doesn't have to give his current team a chance to "match"; and I wouldn't be surprised if even if some other team gave Jenkins something in the range the Packers would accept, Jenkins signs with the other team instead.

Hope I'm wrong. But I just get the feeling that Jenkins might take a "you had your chance" approach once free agency starts.

I agree with what you're saying. From what I've heard Clifton sounds like a pretty shy guy and likes the small town way/feel of GB and that they might get more space from media in GB.

I agree I read that article where Jenkins was very upset about not getting more offers when he's been trying to work on a new deal for two years now.

But I've also read some quotes that made him sound like a realist and levelheaded but he's just disappointed that's it's so out of his hands and he thought he'd get more effort to resign him and get a new deal done.

So it could be ether way.

Crabtree's ability is blocking at the line of scrimmage and he is a must unless the new guy from Carolina beats him out.

We should just franchise tag Jenkins for a year to make sure we have a player in Neal. Yeah, it's a cheesedick move, but all it's not unheard of.

Crabtree really lacked in the passing game other than pass blocking. And Finley and Quarless are good blockers as well and they can move and get open, so I don't think Crabtree is must... I think he could be replaced by the 6th OL guy on offense (which 6 OL set might be an interesting way to get Sherrod involved if he's not a starter)

I think Crabtree bread and butter was blocking on STs. I've read he was clearly the best blocker on kick returns which was a big weakness.

70% Harvin that's on the field 100% of the time is better than 100% Harvin that's on the field 50% of the time.
