I consider 2010 Sammy's 'break out' year...

No way. He had a great season but like the story says he is still raw. He has only been a CB for a couple of years.
Look for him to really up his game in years 3 and 4.

Without Nick Collins, Charles Woodson and Tramon Williams, ... Sam Shields wouldn't be discussed by anyone.

We sure do get mentioned as having the "best (x) in the NFL" these days. QB, WRs, secondary... I know sports writers are prone to hyperbole, but damn.

Comes with winning the SB. Lots of bandwagon jumpers. If they fall short this season all these analysts who anointed GB players as being so extraordinaire will bail on them in a heart beat.

How many "experts" are proclaiming the Saints as being elite at most of their positions?

I don't remember this happening after they won the super bowl either (besides WR's), so unless my memory is terrible you just disproved your own point

I wonder how long it takes the media to consider Rodgers the best quarterback in the league. I know I'm ready to watch everbody unleash the hounds on Manning, Brady, and Brees.

They still want to bill Matty Ice as better than Rodgers, but one playoff game was all it took to dispell that. That was my favorite playoff game, and I've watched it several times.

Jets could lose a lot of their secondary this year (it goes name, age, Free Agent year (or FA if they're a Free Agent this off-season)).

Cornerback
Darrelle Revis, 25, 2014
Antonio Cromartie, 26, FA
Kyle Wilson, 23 2015
Dwight Lowery, 24, 2012
Drew Coleman, 27, FA

Safety
Jim Leonhard, 27, 2012
Brodney Pool, 26, FA
Eric Smith, 27, FA
James Ihedigbo, 26, FA

I see what you're saying Zero, but I think it goes too far. And it's not like a good QB covering up an average receiving corps. Shields was likely challenged even more because of Collins, Woodson, and Williams.

Well I do not have any specific articles to reply on but people were slobbering all over Brees. There were a lot of kudos for the Saint's defense. You already mentioned the WRs.
Just about every position other than RB got some kind of love in the past year.
But as I said I can't point to a specific story and I don't care enough to go look either.
If you don't feel New Orleans was puffed up by the media this last year or other SB winners in years prior that is fine with me.

Green Bay has the best secondary in the NFL and Shields is a big reason why.

I love reading shit like this. Especially since my favorite positions have always been CB and Safety.

beast (23h) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
