Gee. Maybe with those two twos we can draft an entire offensive line.

{edit:} Sorry... It's hard for me to find any joy in any aspect of the Favre debacle.

Yeah, yeah. I know. "He's gone. Get over it."

I can't. The greatest player of our generation, and maybe the greatest Packer ever, and he's taking somebody else to the playoffs because of stupid pride and miscommunication.

Yeah, I'm bitter. Sorry. (/rant)

Back on the topic, Ted will probably turn one of those twos into a 3rd, two 4ths and nine 7ths. If we were playing better as a team he might have used them on playmakers, but I see more holes on this team now than I did back in April.

I don't see all the holes. We get Jenkins back and that helps a bunch there. I think Finley will be an additional factor and contribute next year as well.

What I see is a need for a guard or two, depending on whether maybe Sitton can step up and a DE although Thompson is looking better and better.

We got all the playmakers. We just need some help up front to give them the opportunities to make those plays on offense and we have playmakers all over the place on defense.

I don't see where we are that far off at all. Jenkins going down has hurt the performance of our DL badly. The "0" line needs some help. Other than that this is a solid team and after April all it can do is get better.

You want to finish your career here?
Favre: "Definitely. If in two years, say, they want to trade me, I'd probably walk away. Retire."

Ahh hell, with those types of picks, Ted Thompson should have us set up for the future. That IS what we are playing for right? The future? Three years running as the youngest team in the league right? Yeah, the future!

Always give up what you can today to plan for the future......I think that will be my new motto.

I think you might be right. It seemed like a good idea when it appeared the Jets would be fighting for a playoff spot, but at 8-3 with 3 home games and road games vs SF and Seattle, there's not a whole lot of suspense left. The good news is......

The Favre Pick will almost surely be a 2nd round or higher!!!!

At this point, it's just as easy for everyone to track the pick on their own. This thread doesn't really have much value anymore.

I'm reviving this thread now that a quick update is in order. The Jets have tanked 3 of 4 games and now need help to make the playoffs.

The Jets are in with a win vs Miami, and:

New England loss @ Buffalo
OR
Baltimore loss vs Jacksonville

All three of those games are at 12pm CT on Sunday. So while also praying that we don't allow the Lions to find their only win, monitor those three games as well.

Just to reiterate, if the Jets make the playoffs, we get their 2nd round pick. If they don't, we get their 3rd round pick.

1 TD against 6 INTs. Losses in the last 3 of 4 games, resulting in the following scenario:

New York must now beat AFC East co-leading Miami at home next week, and pray. Either New England or Baltimore, also 10-5, must lose for the Jets to get in the playoffs. The Patriots are at Buffalo next week and the Ravens, aiming for the conferences last wild-card spot, host Jacksonville (5-10).

What is it with the Jets and the NFC West teams? They've laid an egg in every single game they've played out there, culminating in this embarrassing loss to a dreadful team. This doesn't look good at all.

LOL... Yah. Plus he will be playing fot the Vikings so he really wants the Packers to have a 3rd and not a 2nd.

Seriously.... Brett does not have it in him to tank any game.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
