Or they ran away from him, in a sense. It must be nice to have a running back powerful enough to start causing arm tackles and ole' tackling, and I think that aspect of his abilities and our inability has been understated in these threads. I may not LIKE him, but I DAMN SURE respect his game. I just wish we had sucked as bad as the vikes the previous year to his being drafted so that he would have fell in our lap instead of theirs. I wonder why cellar-dweller status vs. competitor never figures into the "who is the better coach" equation. There is a classic example. Even Brad Childress can look good with AD, of course, if we applied the same stringent standards to Major Dad as we do to MM, then Major Dad is at fault for AD taking his helmet off, isn't he? Just food for thought. 3-4--- Gimme back my hurt DE and I'll stick with the 4/3... + I think Justin is going to come into his own the rest of this season, which will help or LB's greatly. I also have a lot more confidence in AJ as the MLB than some/many posters here. Chiller was an excellent pick-up, etc. Barnett going down is not going to hurt us, imo-- I like Barnett, but I think we all like him too much, if you know what I mean... we will see.

I think a change to the 3-4 would result in having to rebuild the front seven from scratch.

I just don't see how Aaron Kampman could fit in a 3-4 defense. He's a great pass rusher, but is an undersized 3-4 DL. He's not athletic enough to play the 3-4 OLB. Then you have Hawk who would have to move inside due to his inability to be a pass rusher.

Barnett would have to get let go IMO.

It would just be a real mess top to bottom. I don't think the scheme is the problem. I actually do think it's coaching and a mixture of average players playing well average and getting beaten by really good football players like Adrian Peterson, Michael Turner, and Marion Barber.
