I hope that works out. Hawk is a natural MLB, while Chillar is a natural WLB... so, here's hoping for a blessing in disguise!

Here's some news: AJ Hawk is expected to wear the ear piece for the defense.

I kind of feel sorry for Desmond Bishop...yet AJ Hawk may be the best answer for the Packers.

AJ wasn't really a primary MLB in college, he said himself that he rotated around in college.

Thank you Ted Thompson for getting Chillar. I should say thanks again. I think Hawk will be fine at MLB. As for the punter, Frost is one helluva Don H. practice facility punter, will undoubtedly easily crush whatever goober they pick up at this late date in a competition, just in time for the weather to turn nice and nasty and him to suck even more than he does now. I hated that move, I'll go get my posts upon request to back my non- 20/20 hindsight on that one. Ted Thompson let that NFC championship game get to him as regards the punter, but not our o-line? I love TT, and have respected his fortitude during the "fiasco", but someone has to explain that one to me, I'm just not savvy enough to get it.

Has this been confirmed that Hawk is going to be MLB? I don't think he's played MLB since High School.

Here is a question to ponder.

Does Hawk stay at MLB for good?

That's if the run defense is improved and Hawks play at MLB is in large part of it.

Then take Barnett and move him to WLB.

Hawk has a bigger body I believe, but regardless he's stronger and I always felt more disciplined and stout against the run. A problem I see with the run defense isn't player being out of position it's guys like Barnett over pursuing and getting overwhelmed by bigger backs like Adrian Peterson, Lendale White, and Marion Barber. Hawk I think could take those guys on. Barnett couldn't.

I'm just throwing that out there as I believe this defense needs a change and even though Barnett is gone for the year, this could be a change that sticks this year and perhaps going forward.

Something needs to be done. Hopefully this was it.

I think it depends on what AJ does with this opportunity. It seemed like aj hawk was spying "all day" in the final quarter on Sunday. it made no difference, Peterson just dominated the Packers. I do not think moving hawk to Mike instead of Will is going to dramatically change our rushing defense.

I say we get a new defensive coordinator and change to a 3-4 defense but thats the fix for next year. Alot of people brought that up but i agree with it now
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I completely DISAGREE w/ you....Bob Sanders is a great defensive coordinator in my opinion. He has good schemes, it's just the execution of the players that is lacking. Like mike McCarthy says all the time, it's gap control that the players can't do. Sunday against the Vikings they had good gap control, Adrian just ran over them.
