But the point is they would not have been able to contribute. I predicted several times, well before the season began, that both of those players, if they made it back onto the field, would promptly end up back on the injured reserve list. Given the profound extent of his injuries, I knew Harris in particular was a downright bad bet. I was pleased that Ted Thompson let both of them go, because it was in the best interests of the team. They weren't healthy, they could not have contributed, and hanging onto them would have only held back the development of other players and probably prevented this team from making the playoffs.

The point of this thread from the author is that he feels bad for the two players. I don't, I agree with Nonstop - their contribution was leaving the team because they were both bad fits for this defense. No argument that they were really good good to great Packers, they were payed well while here and life goes on. How they feel about missing the super bowl, is quite frankly none of my business. I've said in the past that I'd like to see both players get rings because of past contributions to build this team. Shit happens in life, believe me, now lets move on.

It's a bummer for them, but it's hard to say I feel bad for them. The injuries they both sustained in '09 sucked.

Would it have been cool for them to get a ring? Sure, but at what cost.

Perhaps the millions of dollars the Packers payed then for their services will console them.

Or playing a game in which you have worked your entire life to get to this point.. to hoist the Trophy at the highest level of the sport.

I hold little compassion for Kampman as he made his own choice this past offseason to go elsewhere to play the game. He controlled that choice..

As far as Harris.. it is a stretch to say that Harris in Green Bay would have seen the same end fate as winding up on the IR.. why? In Green Bay he would have been a dime or nickel corner at best... in Miami he was in a starting role.. so he may or may not have suffered the same fate.. but we can't draw a solid conclusion just the same.

That said.. I wanted Harris or another veteran to be in place just in case depth was tested.. as it was in the SB with Woodson and Shields going down..

But that doesn't change the fact that Harris spent more than 50% of the season with the Packers this season, was in camp helping the young bucks and was on the sidelines supporting his brothers under the helmet.. he can take some pride in the fact that he was a part of the 2010 Packers.. albeit not a factor upon the field. No less than a PS players that will receive a ring.

No, the reason for living is the accumulation of puntang, then you get married and she punishes you for your evil doings the rest of your life. There is no reason for a judgement day.

I don't think Al Harris started any games for the Dolphins. Played in 3 games.

Checked the stats.. your correct.. I thought he started a game for them..

But the point still stands.. one couldn't say with any definitely that Harris would have pulled a hamstring with the Packers just as he did with the Fins.

That is my point.. unless NonStop now holds a crystal ball.
