everyone keeps saying "we didn't deserve to win" and i just don't think thats true.

we lost by one point. not deserving to win is a 30-0 blowout. we did give up a bunch of yards and some big plays... but we did enough to get the lead and just barely lose it late.

if you ever put yourself in the situation to win a ball game... then you deserve to win. the ball went 10 feet right and we didn't win. but we deserved it just as much as they did.

DING DING DING we have a winner! There were players out there making plays and working their asses off to get the win and it didn't happen. To say they don't deserve it is bs. Woodson didn't deserve the win, Collins didn't deserve the win, Williams didn't deserve the win......ok

FOR!!

#1 What Brett Favre did was not illegal AT THE TIME..so to say what if he was flagged is not really the issue...Because it was LEGAL...

Thats like saying what if they didnt allow stick um back in the day how many TD would have been dropped THAT IS POINTLESS

#2 What AP did Is illegal and was confirmed by the NFL..So it is not pointless to discuss what ifs..it can still be discussed because it did affect the game weather you think so or not

Read my post again. I'm not making direct comparisons.

Mountain out of a molehill, sir.

If the ref did what he was suppose to do, do you know for a fact it wouldnt have changed the outcome?

The correct answer to both questions is a resounding, NO. Which is why it's pointless to complain about this. You don't know what would have happened, no matter how 'good' the yardage loss sounds.

I mean, you have a right to vent about it. But, to make a case that it would have a direct impact on the outcome of the game? Pointless.

"longtimefan" wrote:

You could say that about any play.
You can't say for sure if the outcome of ANY game would change because of a call like that that was missed.
The refs screwed up, and it happened to be against us.
I bet had WE won and it was Greg Jennings that took his helmet off, you'd be ticked off about no penalty called too.
I myself don't care if a guy takes his helmet off or not........but supposedly the NFL does, as THEY made the rule against doing it. So why didn't they call it? Its either OK for EVERYONE or it's not for EVERYONE.
Did it change the outcome? No way to say for 100% sure. But it MIGHT have. And it SHOULD have been called.

They didn't call the no helmet penalty cause they're saving it to use on us next week. :thumbleft:

The head of the officials said today that Adrian Peterson should of been flagged for taking off his helmet after his touchdown. Sorry if that was posted, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

You consider that and what I think was a questionable call here and quite a few holds and you can conclude that the Packers did get a bit of a jab towards them by the refs.

With that said, I'd be more upset if the Packers deserved to win the game. The fact is they didn't. They played poorly and I thought the gameplan was bad too.

I think the team or player that deserved to win won, but then again they did so by default.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
