I would be hoping for a 4th or better if Barnett was traded. He's injured but it's a wrist injury... Urlacher proved this year you can have a wrist injury and come back with one of your best season...

And normally Barnett has 100+ tackles a year which is worth something...

I'd say a 4th round pick would be about right, factoring in his age, and that he doesn't like messing with blockers... put him in a cover 2 system in the AFC or something and he should be just fine.

I think Hazer's right about him going to Denver, but wrong about getting a 3rd. I'm guessing 4th or 5th. Hope Hazer's right though.

I think a 3rd sounds about right. Barnett was a borderline Pro Bowler for a lot of years in the 4-3, and he's not terribly old yet.

Yes, being wishy-washy is a who cares issue. However, it's fun to make fun of our wishy-washyness (and that includes making fun of me for panicking in the middle of the season about our injury problem).

"zombieslayer" wrote:

Give yourself some credit. That was not panic. At midseason, it was completely logical to think the Packers were not likely to win the Super Bowl. Props to those who never gave up hope. I love their enthusiasm. But let's be real. There are always fans who never give up hope during the season, and usually they're wrong.

The ones who never gave up hope were relying on faith, not logic. There is a difference.

This is stupid. I hate all articles about "looking to deal" people. If people publicly know, then that means all value just got thrown out the window.

If it were a secret until they offered Barnett to another team, the other team would still know he was being shopped as he's just been offered. I don't see how you can trade a player to another team without them finding out he's available for trade first so I don't see how an article about the matter changes anything.

I was thinking the most we'd get is a 6th.

That sounds about right to me.

At best we would get a 5th considering his injury history. Probably Barnett our first round and a 6th round from next year to move up a lil' in the draft considering we see a good player that can be a reach?

I hang on to every word you say Zombie, see you're my inspiration, my light, the wind beneath my wings. :thumbleft:

I regained faith when we smoked the Giants. I knew we could play with any team in the league, just needed the spark. I think Rodgers second concussion was that spark.

And you don't have to defend my point, btw. I would myself, but I can't be arsed to carry on with this debate.

I reckoned people would see that I was exaggerating for effect here. Of course no one called AJ Hawk a messiah. Just to make the ones that did think so feel better, your friend also hasn't had sex with 95 people.

I am going on record to say we will get a 3rd for Barnett, and it will come from the trade happy Denver Broncos that are switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and need that solid inside linebacker.

But we will have to wait and see. But it won't surprise me to see him in Denver, which is a norm for Ted Thompson trading players. Get them out of the NFC if possible.

"dhazer" wrote:

I'll take it a step further dhazer, of course this is assuming there is a new CBA in effect.

IMHO this is the year Ted pulls the shocker of the draft on day 1.

Denver is sitting at #2, I think Ted will put together a package of picks and players to move up to that #2 spot and he will get the man he wants who is Patrick Patterson Cb, LSU.

I know it will take a lot, but what better year than this one to make such a move.

Patterson is the best CB in the draft and he is a great return guy, let's face it, Woody isn't getting any younger and the most obvious need The Packers have is a return guy.

My question for those more knowledgable than myself on the draft pick value formula is ...Just what would it take to move up to that #2 spot?
