In Rock's defense, I think it's fine to point out how wishy-washy forums can be in general. Remember how in the middle of the season, there were only a few people who thought we'd still win the Super Bowl. Finley88Beast was one of them and there were a few more, but most of us thought the season was over (I thought it was due to too many injuries).

That includes me. I originally posted that we'd win the SB this year (last year) and then near the middle of the season, thought maybe next year (2011) as our injury hurdle was too much to overcome. Then we started winning games again and I got my faith back, and rightfully acknowledged that the few guys like Finley88Beast should get props for never giving up hope.

Yes, Greg C, this forum is no more wishy washy than others but let's be real, it can be wishy washy. I defended our O saying that we could win without a running game and I think there were a lot more people against me than agreeing with me. There were probably only 3 or 4 people who agreed with me and the majority said we couldn't do it. But I did give up hope that our D was too injured for us to overcome injuries near the middle of the season. I'll readily admit that.

I regained faith when we smoked the Giants. I knew we could play with any team in the league, just needed the spark. I think Rodgers second concussion was that spark.

I doubted too. The Patriots game turned it for me - that showed me that we had a real team around Rodgers...

But to be fair to those that thought we may not win the super bowl, such logic was more reasonable than the alternative. There was nothing unreasonable about thinking we would not run the table on the road from the wild card position and win the super bowl with all of our injuries before / around the Giants game. It was a stunning turn of events and the team really took form late in the season. I would say it was more surprising than expected, at least at that point in the season. This team overcame many hurdles that few teams in the history of the league have done. They pulled off the nearly impossible and did so very convincingly.

As for the forum being "wishy-washy," who cares? Opinions change, and should. Nothing remains the same and one must adjust their opinions of things as circumstances change. Hawk has struggled for much of his career, but during our playoff run, he really displayed some solid play. Because of this, we think/hope/expect that level of play will continue and are glad to see him resigned. As for the departure of Barnett, many of us understand the inevitability of the sport and hope that we can get some return in our investment in him. Personally, no way I would give up a 4th rounder for him, but perhaps some GM will.

My main point is people like to be convinced of something before they will truly believe it. For a large part of the season the Packers were not being very convincing that they deserved or were capable of being super bowl champions. However, they righted the ship, if you will, and made believers out of the majority. They refused to take no as an answer and overcame all adversity. I don't view most peoples perspective on this season as wishy-washy. I just think the Packers elevated their game to a point where few could doubt them any longer.

Yes, being wishy-washy is a who cares issue. However, it's fun to make fun of our wishy-washyness (and that includes making fun of me for panicking in the middle of the season about our injury problem).

And good point about the Packers elevating their game. Those last 3 regular season games showed a lot of pessimists that we're for real. We almost beat the best team in football (or who we thought was the best team in football at the time) with our backup QB. Then we b**** slapped the Giants. Then we beat da Bears in a completely defensive game and snuck into the Playoffs.

The 2nd playoff game against Atlanta showed we were a complete team and we could win the SB, to even the biggest pessimists.

I am going on record to say we will get a 3rd for Barnett, and it will come from the trade happy Denver Broncos that are switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and need that solid inside linebacker.

But we will have to wait and see. But it won't surprise me to see him in Denver, which is a norm for Ted Thompson trading players. Get them out of the NFC if possible.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I think Hazer's right about him going to Denver, but wrong about getting a 3rd. I'm guessing 4th or 5th. Hope Hazer's right though.

If we went back to mid-season and had to do it all over again, I'd still think the odds would be against us. This team put themselves in a shitty position, as usual, then came roaring back at the end.
That said, I think the Arizona game was a fluke. We coulda done some damage last year too.
