Bad news:

From the official Cardinals twitter:
"Mo talking with media, Wainwright felt discomfort in his elbow and is being evaluated.

"At this time things don't look good, will have more info after he sees doctors"

And from BJ Rains, beat writer for the Cardinals:

"Adam Wainwright is flying back to St. Louis to be evaluated by team doctors. GM John Mozeliak is "not encouraged." Pain in elbow."

"When asked if he felt the injury to Wainwright was significant, Mozeliak replied. "I do." ....Doesn't sound good at all."

The Brewers have a chance to go far into the playoffs if they stay healthy. A solid starting rotation, axe closing, Rickie Weeks, Prince, Braun coming back, I'm excited and can't wait for the season to start!

I turned on WGN radio today to listen to Pat's first broadcast without Ronnie. Keith Moreland did a fine job and even though I am a Cardinal fan, it was sad and strange.

My favorite part of the broadcast was when Oakland's Crisp hit a grand slam, the Cub fans all started to do their Ronnie impersonation by going "Awwww. AWWWWW!"

I miss Ronnie already.

Fingers definitely cross. The bullpen and defense is going to be a major concern though as well as the fact that most of the Brewers runs seem to be scored via home runs. They can't just rely on the long ball IMO.

The Bullpen was a strength last season and they lost little in the pen.

But I do agree with the defense.. especially up the center. Although, all those that are bashing Betancourt endlessly are overstating his limitations. That said it is still a concern.. and Gomez will provide little in offense if he is going the be an everyday player.

Hopefully health is on our side and we can make a run.. as I don't think we are very deep overall.

The brewers had some depth, Melvin traded it away. We need to make the play-offs, or Melvin is afraid he'll lose his job.

If you think Packer fever is crazy, wait till the Brewers get a Championship team.

IMO, we may see Counsel playing SS this year. Maybe over 100 games, especially later in the season.

The Brewers need a leadoff hitter. I think Weeks would be awesome in the #2 slot. Melvin traded for two starting pitchers, I wish we could have somehow kept Esocbar, and added the pitching. I just wonder if Brewers management would ever take a shot @ Brian Roberts. He can play SS and leadoff. The Cubs want to trade for him, wish the brewers would go after

Leadoff /SS  this guy.
