I have a strong suspicion that won't help at all, because it's still the same server, lol.

Could you possibly create a queue: only one downloader at a time, perhaps with throttled down speeds, and limited to certain hours (say, at night)? Whosever turn it was to download could leave the connection open overnight and have the game in the morning, while creating limited server load for everyone else.

I was thinking I could just PM those who ask for it to prevent massive downloading. I'd like to get it up on a torrent, but pretty confident that'd confuse some folks.
