If that is the case, watch how many articles will pop up grading the Packers' draft down because not enough projected immediate starters were drafted. Of course, as this past yera showed, one never knows when the new players will be pressed into service due to some emergency.

Yeah I am certain they will not give GB high marks in the draft even though it is difficult to draft an immediate starter for any SB team.

That is one of the reasons I am not overly concerned with all the picks New England has. They do have 4 of the top 60 selections but where are they going to put them all? They will have to let someone go elsewhere. Most teams do not want to pay 2 players starters money.

I'm pretty sure Thompson will keep with the BPA mentality. At 32 you know someone that many consider to be talented will fall and we'll be there to scoop that guy up. I feel like the first-round pick will be like an Aaron Rodgers type pick where someone extremely good fell down to us so we had to take them. If that doesn't happen I could honestly see Ted Thompson trading down.

Bulaga, Hawk, Matthews, Raji, and Rodgers were all standard picks.

Morgan Burnett and Greg Jennings didn't surprise me either.

Neither did Patrick Lee or Jordy Nelson and everyone felt the Packers were going to draft Brian Brohm.

In my view, Thompson's drafts aren't controversial. I think there is a misconception that he does things out of the ordinary. He drafts really well and many of the players he takes are pretty well known. Most good players are.

I'd love Stefan Wisniewski who could start at guard immediately, and possibly move to center once Wells needs to be replaced.

I know he's the best center prospect in the draft, but I have heard he has more like 3rd round talent. There are not a lot of promising centers in this draft (unless you count Mike Pouncey).

Not sure I'd take him at 32. Maybe w/ our pick at the bottom of the 2nd.

I like the Hudson kid, LG from Florida State. Possible day one starter if Colledge is gone. I don't think expecting the 32nd pick in the draft to be a starter is unreasonable.

We need to add 2 O-lineman, an inside linebacker if Barnett gets cut, and a returner. I think we're good to go everywhere else. Having bookend Clay Matthews is a pipe dream and downright fascist. :)

It's tough to say what we need until we know how the CBA shakes out. We might get College and Jenkins for another year, if they can't hammer anything out.

Normally, on drafts, I bow down to you, but I watched the ESPN pricks and they didn't know who Greg Jennings was. I kept hearing Chad Jackson this and that! The stuff I heard and later read was he wasn't fast and was a bit on the shorter side, although I think he's 5'11", right?

The folks that knew about Greg Jennings were the ones who watch every College ball game on Saturday, lol.

Well, I went on the old packer forum and said that the Packers were probably targeting Greg Jennings.

I actually mocked him to go to Chicago that year in round two. But once the Pack moved down after the Walker trade, I knew Jennings was their guy and Jackson was not. Otherwise, they would have taken Jackson at that spot.

Of course, I only slotted Jennings in round two. Clearly, he's one of the best players from that draft, so shows what I know.

I know someone saw the post at the old forum when it happened. If they remember, back me up! šŸ™‚

Hudson is a great player. Probably the best guard in the draft. He's a bit small (6'2 290). I'd rather have a fat boy line than a finesse one.

Huge props to you then sir. I never heard of the guy until the Packers drafted him and the ESPN pundit pricks were not high on him at all, saying they should have taken Chad Jackson.

You don't need anyone to back ya up, if you say you did, I believe ya. I need to follow college football. The only players I've followed were Desmond Howard and Charles Woodson in their college days. I tried following Noel Devine, but lost interest quick.
