Here are a few mock drafts and the players GB is expected to pick up.

walterfootball

Green Bay Packers: Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College
The Packers are a tough team to do mock draft for. They have very few needs, and the best players available don't necessarily satisfy those needs.

The one exception could be Anthony Castonzo. Yes, Green Bay drafted an offensive tackle a year ago, but the team needs a successor for Chad Clifton. Plus, Castonzo fits the blocking scheme and appearance that the Packers look for in their offensive linemen.

the new nfl draft

32. GB Packers: Mark Ingram, RB, Bama (#2 RB- 2011 NFL Mock Draft Rank)

I am not sure about this pick as Ryan Grant will be back next year and now that James Starks looked goo in the first playoff game. However, in getting Mark Ingram this late in the 2011 NFL Draft they are getting a steal. I have him taking my top rated 2011 NFL Mock Draft RB in this draft.

draft countdown

32 GREEN BAY PACKERS: AARON WILLIAMS, CB, TEXAS

The Super Bowl champs dont have a ton of glaring needs but there are definitely a few positions where they could use some reinforcements. One such area is cornerback, where Charles Woodson is going to be 35-years-old and there isnt much to speak of beyond the starters. No offense to Sam Shields, who played admirably, but the fact that an undrafted rookie free agent could come in and seize such a substantial role speaks volumes about the depth situation. The Texas program has produced a lot of NFL defensive backs over the years, many of whom were first round picks, and Aaron Williams appears primed to carry on that proud tradition. A terrific athlete with an ideal blend of size and speed, Williams would be an ideal long-term replacement for Woodson alongside the underrated Tramon Williams. Green Bay could also be in the market for a pass rushing Aaron Williams | Texas Longhorns outside linebacker to play opposite Clay Matthews and Georgias Justin Houston would be an nice fit. Despite using their top pick on Bryan Bulaga last year the Packers could still use some more help along the offensive line, particularly at tackle since Chad Clifton is nearing the end of the line, so Gabe Carimi of Wisconsin or Derek Sherrod of Mississippi St. could be possibilities. Dont rule out a wide receiver either since Donald Driver is 36-years-old and James Jones is a free agent who may not be brought back due to his inconsistency.

bleacher report

No. 32: Green Bay Packers Muhammad Wilkerson, DE, Temple
When you're the Super Bowl champions, sometimes it's a matter of the best player on the board.

However, the Packers could use some depth on the defensive line and that's where Muhammad Wilkerson would be a great addition. He's a guy who can get after the passer and really create havoc for opposing quarterbacks.

Wilkerson could be a real beast working on the line with B.J. Raji drawing a lot of the attention.

Fox Sports  was prior to the SB and they have GB at 31. I am putting both choices in since they are both OT.

31. Green Bay Packers* (10-6), Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin: No one within fifty miles of the city of Green Bay is even close to thinking about the draft right now, but they no doubt will be the Monday after next Sundays Super Bowl. Chad Clifton opted to re-sign last offseason and now will play in the first Super Bowl of his career, but he wont be around for much longer. Im not sure Bryan Bulaga, last years first-round pick, is the long-term answer at left tackle, either. If Bulaga stays put on the right side of the line, the 6-7 Carimi, a star for the beloved Badgers, is a very intriguing option to man the left. Bulaga and Carimi two road-paving Big Ten maulers serving as the bookends on the Green Bay Packers offensive line? Yeah, that sounds about right.
* denotes order of final two draft positions has not yet been determined.

fox sports same player but this is after the SB.

32. Green Bay Packers (10-6), Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin: An 11-year veteran whod never played on Super Bowl Sunday, Chad Clifton was one of the feel-good stories of Super Bowl XLV. He opted to re-sign last offseason after the NFL draft, played a superb left tackle all year and ended a dream season with a tremendous performance and a coveted ring. Clifton should be back next year, but he doesnt have too many seasons left in those legs. Starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga could play left, if needed, or he could stay put on the right. Either way, the Packers fans would be delighted to see the 6-7 Gabe Carimi a star for the beloved Badgers in Packers green, keeping Aaron Rodgers other side safe for years to come.

the football expert

32. GB: Mikel Leshoure, RB, Illinois
Ryan Grant is going to be entering his contract year, and Starks and Jackson are just ok RBs. Leshoure is a dynamic RB would be a perfect target coming out of the backfield for Aaron Rodgers. He is quick, has soft hands and can take it to the house. This pick brings the Green Bay offense to scary good levels

CBS rob rang

Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State: When healthy, Green Bay is stout up front. Chad Clifton's balky knees, however, and potentially looming free agency of starting left guard Daryn College and backup Jason Spitz could put the team in position to grab any one of the offensive tackles expected to land in the late first round. Sherrod is a tackle by trade, but appears to have the versatility and toughness to play wherever the Packers need him up front.

cbs Chad Reuter

Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State: Heyward aids a three-man front potentially changing due to Cullen Jenkins' free agency and Johnny Jolly working to return from suspension.

Sporting News

32. Green Bay Packers: Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

Despite the playoff success of James Starks, the Packers see great value in grabbing Ingram. He has the talent to be a very strong, productive back whose style will play well in Green Bays cold conditions

Don Banks of Sports Illustrated also has the Packers taking an OT--Ben Ijalana of Villanova. I wouldn't mind getting an OT. Really, there are plenty of positions on the team that could benefit considerably from a first round pick.

The OLB position is considered by many to be the Packers' highest need, but I don't see a single OLB in these mocks. Maybe there aren't any good ones around the #32 pick. It's so hard to project a pick that late in the draft.

Odd to see how many are suggesting running back?

Walter has us going OT and G in the second round which is pretty interesting.

I'm torn between OL help and a KR who can play corner, or be a 4th WR.

And Ted Thompson will select someone those guys don't have on their board at all, lol.

Right now, I have the Packers going OL, but interior OL. I think there are two interior lineman with late first round grades. The first is Mike Pouncey, who is obviously going to be compared to his brother. I'm not sure he is going to be on the board when the Pack pick.

Stefen Wisniewski is the other guy I think they may look at. Admittedly, some would consider it a reach to see him in the first round, but he is a meat and potatoes guy and extremely smart. Would start at LG IMO and then possibly move over to center when they move on from Scott Wells in a few years. That's kinda an outside of the box type of pick, but I think he's underrated.

I would love to get a big nasty guard that could form a new Rivera/Wahle-esque tandem w/ Sitton. Mike Pouncey would be amazing. I know Carimi took some reps at guard during the senior bowl. I wonder what position he'd be best at?

I also think the wild card on our o-line is TJ Lang. Can he be a starter at LG or maybe RT? I've only heard great things about him since he came to GB, but he hasn't seen the field much.

Also, where does Bulaga fit long term. I think he could be a Pro bowl RT and possibly an above average LT, but what do I know?

Or it means he was really that talented? Not that I disagree with the comment about our CB depth but is that really the only conclusion you can come to?

I wouldn't necessary disagree that CB is a need, but I wouldn't use Sam Shields as my argument. Actually, a valid argument is that Charles Woodson should move to safety and the Packers should draft another CB to develop along with Shields and Tramon Williams.

Personally, I do not agree with that idea because Woodson is so good at covering in the slot, but I understand how someone could see it because of Woodson's age.

However, the argument you quoted is just an example of someone who clearly is not familiar with the Packers. Looking back, Shields was one of the better rookies in football this year and probably would be the third CB off the board in this draft.

After Shields we got: Brandon Underwood, Pat Lee, Jarrett Bush, & Josh Gordy.

I'm not sure any of these guy will turn into a solid nickelback in the future. Maybe Lee if he can avoid injuries.

This is where Thompson's team building strategy really starts to pay off. The team is pretty loaded with depth, with few glaring needs, so he can take best value at each pick. And if there is crazy value to be gained by trading up for a player, he can do that without regretting the loss of picks. Or vice versa, bad value, trade back and not worry about missing out on a needed position/player.

It's a sustainable machine at this point, at least for the short term. Just keep true to the FO's philosophy.
