Image doesn't win football games.

Brady standing in the pocket for 10 seconds not moving his feet waiting for his WRs to break open. That is why people say he has such good protection.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Does any one even know a single Pats WR?

That's kind of where I'm at too. Granted, Brady had much better pass protection, which had a lot to do with those incredible stats he put up this year, but he is a really special QB.

I havn't read through all of the pages here but I don't get why people always say "Brady has such great pass protection" but never say anything about who Brady's throwing to. Does any one even know a single Pats WR?

Maybe you should've read the posts, because I've mentioned that Brady doesn't have great receivers. Welker is very good, Deion Branch is average, and the others are nobodies.

By the way, for what its worth and its worth nothing, I don't get the thought that Rodgers is underrated. Everyone and their mother (at least the TV shows I watch or the websites I read) says they would take Rodgers to start a franchise. I'm not sure what else you would want, do you want them to say that Rodgers is better than Brady and Manning after one year (or two) in which he bested them?

But to put Rodgers into the same company as Manning and Brady in terms of career or image, doesn't make sense to me, those guys did it for 10 years. For example, Rodgers has never won an MVP (even a vote?). He's a great player and amongst the best but the way some people talk about him is way off to me. One of the key things is do it over a period of time. He hasn't done that yet so I am not sure how he can be underrated.

My point was that I think Rodgers is just as good as those guys RIGHT NOW, not just in the future, and I don't think that's been generally recognized yet. I'm not talking about career or image.

To be fair, Welker used to be the best possession WR in the game. He has lost a step as he's not 100% from that injury.

Branch is quite average. Brady makes Branch look better, not vice versa. Branch used to be better a long time ago but he has aged.

Oh, I'm aware. I was just making the point that they aren't completely barren in the receiver department. They've also got two good young rookie tight ends in Gronkowski and Hernandez and a good receiving back in Danny Woodhead. Brady may not have an elite receiving group but he's not exactly bereft of options either.

The refs certainly don't treat Rodgers like an elite QB. He has received quite a number of head shots and late hits that would be automatic flags if his name was Manning or Brady. It was quite laughable that the headshot called on Peppers was even an issue. If that was Brady or Manning there would have been no post-game discussion it would have been the correct call period.

The only QB who I think is more underrated by both fans and refs is Rivers. The guy may come off as a jerk, but he is one talented jerk if you ask me.

Yes, I've been meaning to mention Rivers. I think he is right up there with Rodgers, Brady, Manning, and Brees. I don't think there is much separating any of these guys, although Manning and Brees had subpar seasons in 2010.

Some you make Tom Brady sound like he's Tarvaris Jackson or something.

65.9%, 3900 Yards, 36 TDs, 4 INTs (ONLY 4). You don't get those kind of numbers just because you have a good line. Plus they played I think every AFC playoff team this year.

And this whole "oh man the Jets exposed him for what he is". He was 29 for 45, 299 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT (89 Rating).

Rodgers numbers against the Bears, 17 for 30, 244 yards, 0 TDs and 2 INTs (55 Rating).

So because the Packers D held the Bears to 14 poitns and the Pats D gave up 28 points, that proves that some Brady's weakness?

I get the whole need to project the greatness of your own QB but Brady had one of the greatest seasons in the history of the NFL and you cannot just discount that because "he had a good line". If you want people to say that Rodgers is better than Brady and Manning, he has to do what they have done.

Beyond every person saying that they would take Rodgers to build a franchise, I just don't get what else you think Rodgers deserves at this point in his career or the discounting of Brady's season.
