I wonder if when a player is drafted now by the Packers if they instantly think, yes, I'm going to be good! Not that they doubted it, but more to validate it because of the success of Ted and his draft picks, lol.

You know, I think there is a lot of validity to that thought when you consider and opinionate on what it would feel like being an Al Davis 1st round pick.

Hypothetically -

"I'm a long snapper. With one arm. Oh brother"

I do think, that from now onwards, any player who comes to Green Bay under the radar and without a big reputation will perform to the absolute best of his ability because they will know, that they are not here to fill in the numbers, they are here to play prominent roles in the team because in a Superbowl winning season, so many low key players built reputations due to the opportunities afforded to them.

I wouldn't be surprised if it added a kick in their step. Ted Thompson, known for his late round gems, why not?

Interesting - I think they would think that.

I was wondering, actually, something similar: does this affect the undrafted free agents who want to sign? Perhaps when choosing between two offers - one from the Pack and another from a different team - a player will be more attracted to a Superbowl Winning team.

I think this season must have forged a major reputation as the place to go to build your name and be part of a winning module.

If someone is serious about being a winner, all they have to do is look at Sam Shields, look at Donald Driver (7th rounder) and see that if they believe in their abilities and give it their all, they will succeed.

Losers will probably think about the "small market, no nightclubs".

I wonder if Ted finds the diamonds in the rough, or he puts them in a position to succeed.

I've been hearing talk about what would the 49ers be like if they went with Rodgers instead of Alex Smith and quite honestly I'm not sure if Rodgers wouldn't have suffered as well from his confidence being shattered with very little weapons around him other than a RB. A-Rod being behind Brett for a few years was a good thing for our organization.

This team has allowed players to fit in at their own pace rather than being rushed as a starter. Even Bulaga who I thought might be a week 1 starter was a back-up until injuries pushed him into the starting role.

I am curious whether Ted will be able to find a week 1 starter this draft given our depth. I am guessing/hoping they go OL or CB with the first round pick, but knowing Ted it will be BPA, but I am sure hoping that BPA is a fat dude to protect our franchise. OL seems like the only position who may have a shot at an opening day starting position.

Random fact:

One of Ted Thompson's draftees became the youngest player ever to start in a Super Bowl.

Guess who?

I was originally going to say Shields, but giving it more thought I'm going to say Bulaga.

That is my guess as well as I believe he is the only person he drafted in 2010 that was on the active roster.
