http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/07/rodgers-brother-aarons-got-one-up-on-brett/

As MDS pointed out last night and as we reiterated during Mondays ProFootballTalk Live, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers accomplished something on Sunday night that his Packers predecessor pulled off.

Rodgers was named Super Bowl MVP. Brett Favre never was.

After the game, Albert Breer of NFL Network pointed that out to Rodgers brother, Luke. I didnt know that, Luke said. Thats fantastic. Now Aarons got one up on Brett.

Rodgers dad, Ed, also was happy to hear the news. He didnt? Ed said of Bretts non-Super Bowl MVP prize. Oh, I didnt know that. OK, I like that, though. Thats awesome.

In other words, dont be shocked if Favre comes back in 2011. Or 2012.

Eh. At least he didn't say something to the effect of, "Well that's because Aaron is better." It is fact that Aaron does have one up on Brett in the SB MVP category. And it is awesome.

I seriously cannot believe that even in the euphoria of the pinnacle of achievement, a Super Bowl victory, people can not resist bringing up Brett Favre vs. Aaron Rodgers. I thought the collective we was better than that. 😞

If I am Rodgers.. after this season.. I put a standing order on all interview.. ask me a Brett question.. the interview is terminated.

Enough is enough.

Aaron is his own man.. his own QB. Enough all ready, I understand the need to ask in this moment.. but it should end now.

It's not like Brett's brother never said anything stupid in the media. As I recall, his brother was "leaking" information that Brett wasn't happy with the Packers direction as early as 2006 which was, of course, denied by BF.

Bart Starr.......Brett Favre.....Aaron Rodgers

3 GREAT qb's who wore The Green and Gold proud, and brought Championship football back to Green Bay.

Please let all the pettiness of the last 3 years die.

Reality is...

THE GREEN BAY PACKERS ARE ONCE AGAIN WORLD CHAMPIONS.

Everything is right in the world.

There's no pettiness. It's the constant comparison that I'm hoping ends.

He's his own man, he won a SB, I really thought that last night would put an end to all the need to compare Rodgers to Favre and people using Rodgers to somehow take shots at Favre or vice-versa. I loved Aikman and Buck solely because they didn't mention Favre, why would they?

Rodgers is great in his own right. Period. End of story, why the need to validate what he's done by saying anything about Favre. Your probably just feeding Favre's ego, is he really that important, that he needs to be discussed at a time where the GB Packers as a TEAM won the Super Bowl?

Btw, I actually don't think what his brother and dad said was that offensive, it looks they were just asked a question and reacted. I'm not sure what else they were suppose to say. Although not knowing that Favre didn't win the MVP in 1996, they really didn't follow football 15 years ago?

I don't find it all that surprising. If I weren't a Packers fan (and it's probable that Rodgers' relatives are 49ers fans, after all), I don't think I would know who'd won the Super Bowl MVP that year either.
