I did not think the Packers could win it all while Colledge played LG. Wrong - and very happy to be.

I did not think James Starks would have as much of an impact as he had in the playoffs. In fact, I thought he'd stay down at the end of the depth-chart. Wrong, again. :D

I did not think Desmond Bishop was worthy of being a starting ILB, because I believed he was too much of a liability in pass coverage. Wrong, yet again. 😃

I don't know what I've been wrong about. I guess I was wrong to say that Jay Cutler is a more than worthy "elite" quarterback that's just stuck in a bad situation.

So many things. Draft picks, for sure - too many to list. Definitely wrong about Canty, Olshansky, and half the other FAs I stumped for.

Mostly I was very wrong to think that they couldn't overcome all the injuries. Judging by the portion of the game that occurred prior to Woodson and Shields being lost, they were by far the better team on the field yesterday. Crazy.

I was wrong about Packer football.

Because this season taught me that unless something is BLATANTLY obvious (see Al Davis), then I am just an armchair fan who should just enjoy the ride.

Cases in point -

Finley goes down, we cry lost season.

Grant goes down, we pine for Marshawn Lynch, we get by, and James Starks shows he can be a good player.

Peprah returns to the roster and plays way beyond what was expected.

Bishop steps in and plays arguably better than Barnett.

AJ Hawk becomes a defensive leader.

Greg Jennings lights up the league after an ordinary start.

Jarrett Bush proves he deserves a roster spot as a special teamer.

Ted Thompson sticks to his guns and makes no knee jerk situational decisions, the likes of which hurt our rivals (Moss trade)

I was wrong, because I reacted negatively without considering just how special our team is, how special our talent evaluators are.

(before the 2008 pre-season)

I thought Rodgers would be out within 3 years (injurys), Brohm would be the future.

to be fair, alot of ESPN tards thought the same thing McShay, Hodge come to mind.

good lord I was off :violent3:

Wrong about never winning the SB ever again without ol 4 trotting out on to the field. It would be the curse of the billy goat and Bambino all rolled in to one. :onfloor:

Seriously-

The 3-4 defense. I admit I was not sold after last year. I humbly admit I was wicked-wrong.

I remember GB switching to the 3-4 back in the day. (Was it the 8's?) They were absolutely horrible at it. Wrong scheme. Wrong personnel. Wrong all the way around. i did not want to go back there again. I was wrong about zone coverage.

many of us (myself included) thought the season was over and we should start playing for draft picks after Finley going down in the Washington game.

I was wrong about not being able to trust Dom Capers in the big game. He certainly managed to give me a couple of heart attacks last night, but all we needed was a win, and win we did.

I wanted Chad Jackson, too, but I'm pretty terrible overall with the draft. Every year I enthusiastically do all kinds of research: player strengths, weaknesses, schemes they're used to playing in, combine measurables, etc. And I look at where the Packers are as a team, including our strengths and weaknesses, schemes, depth, likely free agent vacancies, etc. I keep track of player rankings and character issues and scouting reports, both before and after the combine. On draft day when the Packers are on the clock, I know who among the remaining players they should pick up.

And I'm wrong... hmmmm... about 80% of the time. Either Ted drafts a guy that I would have picked and he flops (not very often) or he drafts someone I wouldn't have even considered in that slot (the other 75%).

In 2005, I was heard four houses away, screaming "Who the F$@K is Nick Collins?!?" at the TV.

And, after initially resisting the idea, I reversed course and decided that we needed Marshawn Lynch. I didn't want him - I still think he's a gold-teefed gangsta wannabee - but I didn't think we could win without a running game. Obviously, I was wrong about that, too.

OTOH, I was thrilled when Rodgers fell to us. I was pretty sure Bishop was a steal, having seen him play in a bowl game the year before. Loved it when we traded up for Matthews (although I never would have predicted it). Hated the Jamal Reynolds (remember him?) pick from the get-go.

I was wrong thinking Ted Thompson could draft a championship team without signing a few big name free agents...I was wrong thinking MM and his predictable play calling could ever bring home the Lombardi...

I was wrong that the Packers would win the North and then the SB.

But one out a two AINT BAD folks!!!!

I have backed Mike and Ted steadily since they both arrived. I saw the talent Ted was bringing in and how Mike worked young talent. It was a great match and they pulled it off thanks to a DC and Assistants that could get backups ready quickly.

It's just the beginning folks. There's 31 teams out there wishing they had what we have coming back next year and now Thompson can do his thing in the draft and hopefully I won't have to hear what kind of a bum he is for not overpaying every other FA that hits the board.

I think about J. Finley back in the fold with all those WR's and just wonder how any team is going to stay with us next year. That little bit of offensive sputtering that occurred in a few games will be abated. Just make it a little easier on the heart next year guys and win the North.

You have Bulaga, Shields, Zombo, etc, coming back with a years experience and getting better along with Burnett, Barnett(probably), Neal, Grant, Chillar, and Finley.

Get ready for the strongest 53 they may have ever assembled and a lot of guys that will have to work their butts just to make the team or get some PT. Outside of Woodson, Clifton, and Driver this is a young team with many years of success straight ahead.......and it feels good...da da da da da da da......like I knew that it would....da da da da da da da.....so good...so good....so GOOD!!!!!!!
