So if there's no reason to bring him up . . . why was he mentioned several times in this article? 😉

Was there ever rally a doubt?

I would say that is about a 111.45 QB rating he has on the biggest stage in the world.

Not bad for a guy who can not win the big one.

Did this game bring ARod up to 110+ career postseason QB rating or is he at 109.something?

This postseason, his rating was 109.2.

EDIT: Oops, it appears ESPN.com hasn't updated for the Super Bowl stats yet.

For this postseason (2010), his rating was 107.32, shattering the previous NFL best by Bart Starr, which I believe was 101.

For his postseason career, Rodgers is 118/174 for 1517 yards, 12 TDs, and 3 interceptions, an almost unimaginable passer rating of 110.72.

In terms of individual performance, Aaron Rodgers is quite simply the best postseason quarterback in NFL history.

I said we'd win the SB this year and Aaron would be the MVP. Right for the first and wrong for the second. Oh well. At least we can honestly argue for Aaron being the best QB in the NFL now. There's still some argument, but after next year, there will be no argument.

Thanks amigo. I'll give you an applause point for that for that probably wasn't easy for you to say after all the shit you've gone through this year. And favorite teams aside, I'm sincerely wishing that whatever you're going through, you triumph over.

I don't think best-record-in-the-NFL should necessarily (or even usually) equate to Most Valuable Player.

Yes, the Patriots' record was impressive, but it's the offensive line that's the most valuable player on that team, not Tom Brady. Almost any quarterback could excel in that system, as Matt Cassel demonstrated. There is no quarterback in the league who has the luxury of being so casual behind the line as Tom Brady. He stands on his heels, not on the balls of his feet, and he just sort of lobs the passes downfield. Behind that line, Aaron Rodgers' statistics would be simply astronomical.

By contrast, though the Packers' regular-season record was not as good, Rodgers played a far more pivotal role in that team's success than Brady did in his. I knew that Rodgers' chances of getting the award evaporated when he left the game against the Lions, but I still think he was the most deserving candidate. Without Rodgers, the Packers are a hollow shell of themselves, Flynn's performance against the Patriots notwithstanding. Without Brady, the Patriots would still be a serviceable team.

Aaron Rodgers was far more valuable to the Packers than Tom Brady was to the Patriots.

Really was just an unbelievably good performance. We are just so blessed to have had the quarterbacks we have had the last two decades. Rodgers put together one of the greatest quarterbacking performances in Super Bowl history tonight and we needed every bit of it. God damn do I love him. CHAMPIONSHIP BELT!

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
