Aaron might be the first QB that I have ever truly respected as a player and person beyond what they have done upon the field.

Call it a QB bias.. but I have seen very few that show any type of sincere humility that is it ridiculous. Almost every one I have seen in person or from a distance are me first type players.. or support a act in front of the cameras.

Aaron for all accounts we have seen has been raised the "right" way, you know like a normal human like the rest of us. Not pampered from the first time someone was wowed with their arm.

I'll admit, I jumped on the "Cutler is a pussy" wagon real fast because I thought he sat himself out on his own because of how much he was getting owned. Then reports came out about a sprained MCL and as an ex-athlete, anything that has to deal with anything on or around the knee is serious business to me.
I don't think it is right for anyone to be judging Cutler and his toughness. I don't know how much water this Yahoo! article holds but the person surely knows more about the MCL sprain than I do so I read it.

Link

As a biological scientist who has extensively studied the human body with regard to diseases, injuries and patterns of recovery, I have my doubts about Drew Brees(notes) ability to fully recover from playing the entire NFL regular season with an MCL sprain.

The MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament) is a ligament that is located on the inner side of the knee and links the thigh bone to the shin bone. Any damage that occurs to the MCL is termed a sprain and can range in its degree of severity. In a first-degree sprain, only a few ligament fibers are damaged or broken. A second-degree sprain involves more extensive damage to the ligament fibers; however, the entire ligament remains intact. A third-degree sprain means that the entire ligament has ruptured.

Typical injury advice for an MCL sprain is what is popularly referred to as RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation). When started immediately after an MCL injury, RICE alleviates the pain resulting from the injury and also starts the healing process for the knee. If such treatment is not employed immediately, as might be the case with Brees, one or several of the following consequences may result:

Pain medication addiction: The New Orleans Saints quarterbacks MCL injury may have been only first degree; however, continual use of his knee during the season probably exacerbated his pain. This pain may have been temporarily alleviated by pain medication. Playing an entire season with knee pain could lead someone in his position to take pain medication on a regular basis, putting the injured person at risk of addiction.

Further MCL injury: An MCL that is torn has a greater chance of being further injured during use. There would have been a high risk of Brees MCL sprain going directly to third degree if he twisted his knee or took a hit to the area. While a first-degree MCL sprain may require no more than three weeks of recovery via RICE, a third-degree sprain usually requires surgery and an extensive recovery period.

Degenerative Arthritis: A ligament that is under constant insult after injury is prone to arthritic degeneration in later life. Even though Brees did not end up with a ruptured MCL, his knee may eventually succumb to arthritis due to its prolonged state of inflammation, swelling and pain during the season in which he continued to play.

Knee replacement: If sufficient deterioration occurs to a knee because of arthritis, a knee replacement may become necessary in later life.

Now after reading that, would you want your starting quarterback to continue playing on it? Right, the Super Bowl was on the line but if the doctors and coaching staff keep Cutler in and he completely blows out his knee because of this MCL sprain, then what are the fans saying? Instead of "Cutler is a pussy" they will be saying "Cutler is an idiot for staying in when injured, he is our franchise qb". I think people blew this out of proportion and they still are.

Do I like Cutler? No, I think he is a big time douche. Once all the facts came in though, I realized it was wrong to criticize him. It just annoys me to see tons of couch coaches/doctors/trainers/players STILL remain negative towards the guy.

Sorry for the rant, Rodgers is a class act for defending a fellow NFL player. These guys are a union, they should be defending each other....not being a little high school gossip queen on Twitter.

I think that Cutler is a pussy, but it has nothing to do with his toughness or with what happened on Sunday. I think per his personality, he is a pussy. Or better yet, a bitch. He is extremely unsociable, and I think all he cares about is himself. He is arguably one of the least liked QB's (who have been considered successful) that I can ever remember. I think that if he weren't like this, then there wouldn't have been such a big deal made of what happened. If he were sociable and joked around with people and had a great demeanor, nobody would have questioned it, people would probably treat the situation the way that it should be treated, by thanking him for listening to the Dr.'s and sitting it out, letting the team go forward with their best chance to win. But that's not the case, because he is a bitch, which makes him a very easy target.

Cutler is hated because he looks like a jerk. Regardless of the accuracy of the perception. (I don't disagree with it)

I don't think the knee injury was over done. I think the reaction to him not trying to stay on the field is over done.

I also would have liked him to try and stay in. He was sucking big dogs. There is no way he was engineering a comeback as bad as he was playing.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
