I truly believe that he felt aaron had wronged that woman. Unfortunate for florio that he missed the memo about rodgers > jesus. I was pissed as hell about the story, but the more I think about it, the more I feel it adds to aaron's legend. Everyone and their mother came out to defend him. If it was cutler, nobody would have batted an eye.

I'd like to think that those of us that went and put thumbs up and thumbs down for the approx 480 comments (as appropriate) for the two articles he threw up helped at least in some small way with Florio's decision to retract.

I had never done such a thing in my life, not ever ONCE hitting one of those "buttons", but was so INCENSED by those two pieces that I took the time to do so, for almost EVERY comment, and was certainly not alone.

I don't know what it means that so many of us were so adamant about this, but like you, I've never bothered reading the comments, until this time...I kept trying to post, 'thumbs-upped' about 30 comments, and can't recall the last time my blood has boiled like that!

Obviously, cancer has had an impact in Florio's life. That is the first thing I get out of reading his post.

However, he is a journalist now affiliated with NBC. He needs to take account for his actions even if he is sensitive about a particularly issue. The fact that he compares Packer fans defending Rodgers to Falcon fans defending Vick for dog fighting and Steeler fans to defending Roethlisberger for alleged rape is not fair. That is apples and oranges.

Personally, I think Florio saw an opportunity to jump on someone who is the new golden-boy of the NFL, as he puts it. When it came to fruition that his opinion wasnt supported by all the facts, he should have given a more responsible response on what he presented. Instead, he does not blink an eye. Somewhat admirable because hes standing for his convictions, but also hypocritical for someone who often attacks others for not accepting responsibility or owning up to what they say.

Nonetheless, he owned up to his mistakes, so case close as far as I am concerned. People make mistakes. Florio made one and accepted responsibility. Took him long enough, but better late than never.

Porky88 - If he was the one who came up with the idea to write the apology, I accept it. It takes a bigger man to apologize than to tear another down. Also....did you quote your own message? haha

I didn't comment on this because in this information age bad information gets out there and I knew this wouldn't stand.

It isn't as bad as when Florio reported that Terry Bradshaw was dead a couple of years ago.

I don't know if previously someone posted that Florio grew up a vikling fan (obviously mentally ill) and then as a West Virginian was thrilled by Randy Moss.

The guy suffers from that purple slime jealousy.

Always consider the source of your information.

I fully believe Mike Florio wrote the apology on his own accord. I don't think anyone coerced him into doing it.

Then he's a man, and the PH Florio ban should be called off. 🙂

Just read the original story about Rodgers and the MACC event. Check it out if you haven't. Tells you something about his character.

That's a great read Matt, I think we've posted that one a time or two, but it's one of those articles that can definitely be re-posted over and over again.
