I was responding to wpr, Pete. The NFL does let the home team video crew dictate when the visiting team watches a replay.

Oh right. Ya that's bullshit, but it is what it is. The Green Bay crew does the same thing, so until a rule is put in place to control it, we're going to have to put up with it and realize that it's another benefit of earning home field advantage through the playoffs.

That's just not right.
What's the sense of having challenge flags, if the other team can keep you from seeing a play before the next one is snapped?
Thats B.S.

I watched the NFLN segment during the week talking about the replay issue during the Atlanta game and Tony G fumble..

They had a exec on from the NFL ( african american man cant recall name, but does lot of segments on NFLN about rules and infractions)

Fran Charles was host and asked the question about that issue..

The exec stated the NFL has no control over it...

What the home team does have is control of jumbotron for replay..ALL home teams get that

But the replay to the coaches booth is NOT controlled by the NFL

I liked the line that said something about if you see McCarthy and Thompson running long cables from the FOX truck, you'll know why.

Watch it on an IPhone. I bet they have an app for that. ::lol:

Actually, they can watch it on their Android phone, granted, they will have to register at PackersHome.com first and there still will be a little delay. :)

I think in some situations, you should use a timeout. If that's the drive I think it was, that was an important play. Any play that changes possession, or has the potential to do so, call a time out. Take the time to review the play to get it right so there's no excuse.

Okay,
4-3-GB 36 (3:31) (Shotgun) 2-M.Ryan pass short middle to 88-T.Gonzalez to GB 30 for 6 yards (26-C.Peprah).

We had TWO timeouts at this point.

It was 4th and 3 on the 36, that's a 53 yard FG they passed up indoors to go for the first down.

There was a chance it hit the ground, we should have just threw the challenge flag or at the very least called a time out.

That was on McCarthy.

Kind of post whoring this up but another thought.

If you take a time out, then challenge, can you be docked another timeout if it was unsuccessful?

yes

So then it's best to just throw the red flag, if you lose, you lose one time out one challenge.

Then I change my thinking, throw the red flag on any play that's questionable (within reason) when the result of the play results in lack of our offensive possession.
