Fantasy authors write great stories about worlds that have never existed.
Entrepreneurs create new products that have never existed, much less been used, before.

Art is more than replication and recounting and reshaping of experience. Art is imagination and creativity.

Now, if you're asking how people can imagine that way, that I have no answer for.
