I don't think it matters. I believe the Packer players know they are a superior team and will show that on Sunday. Lovely can do whatever he wants, their division championship should come with an asterisk saying they had no injuries and Packers lost 13 starters.

Hell, how about all the teams they caught when their starting QB was out? Luck's always a big part of a quality season for any team, but this year's Bears are setting a new standard.

They have #2 locked up and a 1st round bye now??

The smart thing to do is as Zero2Cool said..Treat as 3rd pre-season..play starters till 3rd q

Yep.

The only caveat is that the Bears are still theoretically in contention for home field advantage if saints and falcons lose during the 12:00 game.

no way in hell is lovie resting anyone. his main goal when he was hired was to 'beat the packers'. this is gonna be an awesome game!

Here's how i see it.
If the Bears have nothing to play for, (the #1 seed is already locked up with a Falcon's win) then Lovie would be stupid to chance keeping his starters in. If Cutler, or Urlacher, or some other big name player gets injured in a meaningless game, Lovie would look like an idiot.
If the roles were reversed, and it was the Packers who had nothing to gain, i'd be TICKED to see Rodgers playing at all in the game.
The "payoff" if you win isn't worth the chance if you lose a vital player for the coming playoffs.

Bears have a BYE and they don't want to hit their first game rusty. I fully expect, regardless of the 1 seed that the Bears will play starters at least into 3rd quarter.

If the Bears had to play in the divisional round, they'd be more likely to rest players sooner.

Starters or not, the Packers SHOULD clean house.

That's just it.....let's say Lovie plays his starters the whole game. Yet they LOSE anyway, and chance injuries to starters.
What does that do to the Bears mindset if they play all out, yet lose to us?

I mean, heck, i wouldn't mind that! Demoralized the Bears!

I don't think this falls under the 'logical' range. Packers/Bears is one of the oldest rivalries in the NFL. Given the opportunity to knock the Bears out of the playoffs, I think we'd start our A team and keep them in the game if it were close.

The only way I'd see us resting the starters (especially if we had a bye the next week) would be if we were getting blown out, or blowing them out.

I wouldn't expect the Bears to do any different than we would. So, IMO, if we want their starters out of the game we need to thump them hard right from the start of the game. 'Cause we don't want them pulling them because they're blowing US out... 😞

Bears can still get #1

NO and Atlanta have to lose..but they play b4 us, so the Bears will know by kick off if they have a shot at #1

I dont think Carolina can beat Atlanta

TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : I think so. I would need to look it up. Think it may have been Carolina's pick.
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : i'm not sure who i'm thinking of now
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : oh fuck me i messed that up
    Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Jordan Davis was 13th overall
    Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Carter was 9th overall
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Eagles had 15th and 10th selections, moved to 13 and 9 to get Davis and Carter back to back
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Eagles traded up for Carter, didn't they?
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : Obviously he was a huge risk but getting a top 5 talent on the dline in the mid 20s is fortuitous
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : Jalen Carter falling into their lap certainly helps
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : And we could only wish to have this type of D
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : It's not like Philly has had low draft picks, but has managed to get themselves a top notch pass rush. We spend so much draft capital of D
packerfanoutwest (10-Feb) : another crap halftime show
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : I think it is over, but then I think of Atlanta and want Philly to go in with the same intensity in the second half
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : And with a Pass Rush that might as well be on a milk cartoon and no Jaire
Martha Careful (10-Feb) : I cant help but feel good about how well the Packers D played in Philly during the playoffs
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : this game is over
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : This might be the kill shot here
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : oh that's such a bad penalty for KC after getting the 3rd down stop
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : Philly DL has come to play
