I wouldn't be all too surprised if Donald Driver is not back, but I think 2011 will be his final year as a Packer.

Driver's contract has him here until he's 38, and since we re-signed him a lot of times, I'm pretty sure his contract value makes him affordable until he's truly done.

James Jones will re-sign here. There's a lot of WR's available in the draft, and that's where teams will look.

Donald Lee is done.

If A.J. Hawk doesn't accept a reduced contract, he is gone. Nick Barnett is under contract, while Desmond Bishop has clearly outplayed his own and has warranted a new deal.

We have tough decisions to make in regards to our linemen. The only for sure cut I see is Justin Harrell. Other than that... look at this list:

B.J. Raji
Ryan Pickett
Howard Green
Mike Neal
Johnny Jolly

Raji and Pickett are both locks. But can we afford to keep Green, Neal, and Jolly? I know Jolly is gone in most of your eyes, but I like the way he plays when he isn't playing stupid.

OLB will be looked at in the off-season. Matthews is the only reliable one and Brad Jones and Frank Zombo are not starting quality--though I believe Zombo has more potential than Jones.

I don't see Charles Woodson being moved to safety unless Sam Shields pushes him off and we have a reliable #3. That won't be Underwood or Lee.

Donald Drivers contract doesn't mean squat and if you think because we have him signed that means he'll be here, you need to check the recent history of similar situations.

I'm hoping he produces well enough for to merit being on our roster, he's a good player.

I doubt Jones is gone, his the second WR on this team.

And to those who'd argue that it's more important to lock up Jones or Nelson than it is to retain Donald Driver, I'm not ready to buy into that - those two have too many drops and - worse - fumbles for me to believe they can fill his shoes.

Maybe they can fill Driver's shoes and maybe they can't, but because they are just getting into their prime, each of them is worth way more than Driver at this point. They need to stay, if at all possible. Hopefully Driver recovers fully from his injury and our top four receivers can all stay. It may be time for Driver to become the #3 receiver (with Jones at #2) and third down specialist--sort of our Ricky Proehl. (Anyone remember him?)

As for other players, Tauscher is clearly finished, and so is Donald Lee. I would think the odds are against Bigby and Korey Hall due to constant injuries.

I think that either Hawk or Barnett will be gone. That will be very interesting. We have three very good ILBs and only two spots for them. I lean toward Hawk leaving, which I would hate to see because he has sort of been our unsung hero this season. But as blueleopard mentions, Hawk's contract situation is not conducive to him staying.

blueleopard does not mention C.J. Wilson, a DE who I think has a good chance of sticking--better than Howard Green, I think. He's still a bit undersized, but he's only a rookie and he will hit the weight room in the off-season. He's got some pass rushing skills, which Green does not.

I've got to think Poppinga will be gone. He's a below average player who has clearly maxed out his potential.

I think Brandon Jackson will stay. I doubt that he's impressed any other teams with his stint as a starter, and he is the perfect third down back for the Packers. He should be re-signed for a reasonable price.

Here is the list of players I don't expect back..

Yes.. Flynn is in there.. with Harrell being kept around and showing promise this preseason, I look for the Packers to flip Flynn (similar to the Hasslebeck trade) moving up in the draft or additional picks.

He will become costly, I think they will utilize him while his value is peaked.

Additionally.. this list may change drastically if the new CBA changes the RFA time period, which I think may very well be likely.. putting young players under the clubs control a bit longer.

🇱🇮Bigby, Atari S
Briggs, Diyral LB
Colledge, Daryn G
Flynn, Matt QB
Lee, Donald TE
Lee, Pat CB
Spitz, Jason C/G
Walden, Erik LB
Wilhelm, Matt LB
Barnett, Nick LB
Chillar, Brandon LB
Harrell, Justin DE
Havner, Spencer TE
Martin, Derrick S
Poppinga, Brady LB
Smith, Anthony S
Tauscher, Mark T [/li]

If I remember right Driver is still under contract and will be back, we have way to many 3-5 receiver sets to just kick him to the curb. Plus it looks like he is fine with taking the wr3 spot behind jones.

Hall should be gone with Kuhn moving back to FB and Grant coming back.

Donald lee will and should be cut if Crabtree can have a decent offseason and with Finley coming back. He makes far too much for a 3rd TE and they like Crabtree's hands better.

I see alot of talk about Woodson moving to safety which I don't understand. If he moved to safety it would have to be FS, which we have a young pro bowler at? come someone please explain this move to me, am I missing something? Do people think either Collins or CW have the dimensions for SS even though neither have any experience? CW obviously hasn't even dropped his play off yet.

Tauch is gone, great packer career but it's time to cut ties.

I wouldn't mind the Flynn trade to move up for an impact OL, LB or RB since McCarthy is a QB guru and can start another project if the latter rounds, but has Flynn really shown enough for another team to put any significant trade value on him?

IMO Driver is still #2 until Jones can show more. Like not having so many drops and fumbles.

Want to keep Flynn around and Hawk but not at his current contract.

I think Green is gone but only if Jolly returns (does he have to be reinstated?)

There's nothing to understand. It's just idle talk from fans. Woodson can still play CB and is far more valuable there than he would be at safety. He's not moving anywhere anytime soon.

I would hope the Packers would have enough sense to hang on to Driver until he either wants to be done or needs to be put out to pasture. It's one thing if he wasn't still delivering in the clutch (BIG first down late in the Giants game for a recent example), but he's still playing at a high level, and Rodgers loves him (not to mention the fans). And to those who'd argue that it's more important to lock up Jones or Nelson than it is to retain Donald Driver, I'm not ready to buy into that - those two have too many drops and - worse - fumbles for me to believe they can fill his shoes.

BJack, Hall, Tausch, Lee, Bigby, Popp, and likely one of the lower-tier CBs will be gone. College could stay if he's willing to take less money - if he demands more than he's really worth (I fully expect that he will), he's gone.

I agree with Driver. It's clear he's lost a step. He's no longer a 1000 yard WR. heck, he might not even get 500 yards next year. Yet, whenever the **** hits the fan, he's the one guy who hangs on to the ball for an important first down. he's Mr. Broken Play Completed. He's still clutch. And as NSD says, he's the guy who we trust for YAC who doesn't fumble the ball trying to get that extra 2 yards.

Keep Driver and drop him to #3 or #4 on the depth chart. When an important 3rd down or a 4th down attempt are on the line, I want him in the lineup.
