Offensive Line coach, James Campen
Specials Teams coach, Shawn Slocum

Someone's mentioned and I disagree
Wide Recievers coach, Jimmy Robinson
Defensive Coordinator, Dom Capers

When you ask what our strongest/deepest position, most will say WR. Jimmy is not the problem for our WR in my opinion.

Packers are 2nd in points scored against. Dom Capers is doing just fine, albeit could definitely improve against top tier QB's.

Before someone wants to give all the credit to Ted Thompson, hold on. Ted's great at finding talent, but if you don't have coaches that can exploit that talent in a positive manner, the talent is useless.

I would like Campen and Slocum gone along with any reminiscence of the zone blocking shit, err scheme. I think we improve a lot with those subtractions.

As much as Dom Capers frustrates me against top-tier quarterbacks, his defense has been stout against the run and stellar in goal-line situations. So while I might not mind having him hog-tied and whipped with chains in the public square for playing soft against elite quarterbacks, I can't in good conscience advocate for his firing.

I would like to see Jimmy Robinson go, though. As zombieslayer has pointed out a few times, our receivers just seem to lack passion and the willingness to go for the difficult catch this year. And the drops continue to mount. Yes, these seem to be problems leaguewide, but I don't like seeing them on a team with a stellar quarterback. Our wide receivers should be thrilled to have the privilege to play with such premium talent. They're not likely to find better if they get cut by the Packers.

The only changes I would make are Slocum and Campen with Fonteno in tow as well.

Campen and Fonteno haven't developed many linemen in there tenure.. with plenty to work with in that time.

You can say all you want about Robinson, but look at the development of the receivers under his watch.. even Swain has developed into a nice #5.. he can't catch the ball for the players, but they all run clean solid routes, block decently in space and handle a complex offense with rotating positions with ease.

And lack of heart? Really.. I guess I don't agree with that comment.. they do the little things in the games that win games. Jones drops one.. comes back and guts out a first down.. Jordy fights for extra yards, fumbles.. yet comes back late in the game and goes nuts out for the goal line. Drivers going down to catch a laser over the middle late in the game.. those plays win games and speak of heart and determination.

Slocum.. special teams seem to be a mess on a weekly basis.. coverage errors, gaffs in returns.. punter issues almost yearly.. changing Crosby motion and creating one of this worst years of his career, college or pros.. I would like to see a legitimate coach with experience there.. not a guy cutting his teeth.

Lack of heart would to me be WR's not willing to block. I don't see that with our WR's. Also, if they were giving up routes all of the time or throwing up alligator arms. I'm not seeing that.

All of our special teams and offensive personnel coaches, gone and the damn scheme.

I'd really like to see more responsibility put on the players than the coaches when the player fails to catch the ball, make the tackle, etc ...

Agree that Slocum really needs to go....though yesterday for the first time in awhile we looked relatively decent in return coverage.

I think that its a reasonable thing to say that *every* defensive coordinator could stand to improve against top tier QBs. There is a reason they are top tier QBs after all.

Okay once I read Dom Capers' name, I just skipped straight to this post.

Who in God's name said we should fire Dom Capers? That would be the WORST possible thing for this team. Possibly more devastating than firing McCarthy (I said possibly).

Nonsense! A GOOD, hell FAIR DC would be able to mitigate the impact a top tier QB has on his teams offense! Just ask Rourkie!

Our special teams gives me a heart attack every time they take the field--I'm expecting some horrible, embarrassing play to occur. Though the one I'd like to see go first is Bush--too many penalties and poor plays. Some haven't been his fault, but if the ball is going to bounce off of someone and the other team recover, chances are it'll have been Bush it bounces off of.

On the OL side, while I wouldn't miss Campen, what I'd rather see get fired is the ZBS.

In my mind, firing Capers is a lot like the calls to fire McCarthy--anyone calling for their jobs should get used to disappointment. Yeah, they both do things that irritate the hell out of me, and I sure wish they'd cut it out, but firing them? Seriously?
