So DD needed what, 127 yards for Lofton's all time team career yardage record? He had 44 today, so he needs, what 83 yards?

Someone has to point out the dude's one handed catch.

That was marvelous.

And Driver showed more life this game than he has the past few games; makes me giddy to think he might have something left in the tank, so to speak.

Let's do a poll. Who do you bring back next year, DD or James Jones? At this point, I say bring back DD. Trade JJ during the draft or something. See if you can get something for him, then draft another WR in the 3rd.
We go into next year with Jennings, Driver, Nelson, Swain, rookie and get Finley back, Quarless takes a step in his second year, Starks will have an offseason and training camp under his belt, we'll have a hell of an offense. I bet Ted Thompson picks up another RB in the draft too.

That is a mighty tough question.

Jones, on some replays I have seen, is deceptively fast. Surprisingly, he is beating some corners with good speed deep. He is also showing some marginal Yards After Catch ability. The biggest thing against him is his consistency (even today he dropped two catches he should have made even though they were tough catches). It's hard not to fall in love with Jones potential when you see some of the things he does on film, but his inconsistency is a glaring weakness.

Driver is a stud. Old + reliable. He still has something left.

My first choice would be to keep both. If forced to chose though, I'd keep Jones. He's young and very talented - if he ever puts it all together he'll be a terrific weapon. There is no way we release Driver though, so I hope we can somehow resign Jones this off-season.

I agree with gbguy. Why can't we keep both?

Bring Driver back as no more than a 4th receiving option. I'm getting increasingly disillusioned with Jones. All the talent in the world doesn't mean shit if you can't hold onto the ball in key moments.

No matter what, I want our wide receivers coach gone at the end of the season. Except for a few exceptional moments, the play of our WRs has been devoid of inspiration and passion the entire season. I can't remember ever seeing a group of WRs so disinclined to lay out for even slightly challenging passes; they seem more content to give up on routes and beg for penalties. And the drops are just getting obnoxious.

We need to bring in someone to light a fire under the asses of our wide receiving corps.

As I said during the game, I do wonder if Donald Driver holds the most records for most one-handed grabs in Packers history. Too bad such statistics aren't kept. 🙂

I don't think GB wideouts are any worse than any other team but it is really tiresome to watch all these guys from all the teams whine like little girls when they don't make the catch. Donald seems to have a knack of talking to the ref without appearing to be a crybaby. I respect that.
