Look, I'm not generally one to go out and attack other posters or anything, but...

This is perhaps the stupidest post you have made on these forums.

For all of McCarthy's shortcomings, one thing you cannot question is that McCarthy has his team ready to ball when their backs are against the wall.

First season as coach we are 4-8, and McCarthy - wanting to build some momentum going into the off season - gets his team to win the last four games and finish 8-8. Last year, after the Tampa loss the Packers pretty much are in 'win every game' mode and come out and almost win their remaining games (only loss is last-second loss against Steelers due to defense).

Last week, it's pretty clear the Packers could use a win against the Pats, however unlikely that may have seemed (not really "must win" but a win would've gone a long ways). They come out and give a tremendous performance.

If there is one thing you cannot question if you even remotely consider the evidence is whether or not McCarthy is capable of getting his team to win in "must win" situations.

He, very clearly, is. That is not to say we will win next week against the Bears, but the evidence suggests if we go down then we are going to go down swinging like no tomorrow.

I can understand you dislike McCarthy, and I don't think some of your reasons are justified. But frankly, even a slight consideration of McCarthy's overall body of work in "must win" situations is (at the very least) satisfying.

But we've been in every playoff game. And it is really hard to directly blame McCarthy for either of the losses.

First loss - Favre throws INT (on said play, Grant was running underneath and a check down would have sufficed). Unless McCarthy was somehow communicating to Favre to throw deep to Driver, hard to blame McCarthy for that bad execution.

Second loss - obviously we lose due to Rodgers fumble. Again, terrible execution leads to a loss. Only two plays before Rodgers fumble, Rodgers overthrew Jennings on what would have been a touchdown and won the game for the Packers. Again, McCarthy had his team ready to play - you cannot question that.

Frankly, there is little reason to think that when it is do or die time, McCarthy's team will falter or stumble as a direct result of McCarthy's coaching. He has his guys ready to ball when it's time to put up or shut up.

Well stated, sir. Even in the playoffs last year, we turned the ball over TWICE in our first three plays from scrimmage.
Every year we start out about 3-1, only to end up at around .500 around week 8. The offensive line never shows up before week 10. And you can set your watch by these ugly, backbreaking swings and lulls. Today we didn't have a lull, but we did have an excruciating 14 point swing after Jordi's fumble.
Nice to see them move the ball consistently all day though. Today, they overcame the shit suckage.
