Doesn ANYONE feel comfortable with MM in a "must win" situation like this? Because I don't. I don't feel uncomfortable due to the injuries, either. I fear that we'll outplay the Giants, but lose on excruciating, ugly mistakes. Like we did last week. And numerous other times this year, most glaringly against the Lions and Bears.
Speaking of which, and this is a separate question, does anyone feel like we'll "dominate the line of scrimmage?" Or be competitive on the los?
I'm not down on this team. I think we can win. We have more talent than the Giants on offense, and I think with Capers, we're good enough to beat them on defense too. It's just the ugliness that I fear. The stuff that's been going on for years, not just since "the injuries."
Is Starks active?

I'm more comfortable with Mike in a must win game than a game everyone assumes we'll win.

Yet another classic nerdman post...

McCarthy will need to call a game that keeps the Giants d-line in check. If he can get enough quick passes, play actions, screens, and most importantly a RUN game then we will have a great game.

McCarthy has done little to cause us to lose close games look at the Lions and Bears game as you said. 19 penalties and we were still in the game had it not been for James Jones's fumble we would have won. In the Lions game our O-Line played like my high school O-Line giving Rodgers about 2 seconds to throw. Last week was really the only time I saw McCarthy choke in the last drive but I'm not really too mad about him not having a back-up, first time starter not prepared for such a close play/game.

If Capers shuts down the run game we win this game big, if our D struggles I think we'll score more points in the end.

I'd love to see us dominate time of possession again like last week.
NOTE: I see Starks in inactive.

Giants D is better than Patriots, so I expect our offense will have a more difficult time. Giants O is not as good as the Patriots, so I'm hoping they'll do even better than they did against the Pats. Will depend a lot on D's ability to stop the run.

And what kind of game plan MM calls now that AR's back will be the wildcard.

Exactly. Stick with fundamental high percentage, WCO football. Move the chains, quick releases with the occasional shot deep with the DBs cheat up on the slants. Run some screens, traps and misdirection to slow down the pass rush. Try not to roll Aaron out or send him on QB draws or dive plays. Try not to put him in positions where he's holding the ball, as he has a tendency to do.

McCarthy is calling a good game so far, pretty well balanced.
Defense having some brain farts.

Letting em hang around. Nice to see us moving the ball consistently so far. They're relying on our mistakes to hang with us, not with actual production.
