Comments like that are hard not to take in the "wrong" light. He's coming off as petty and ungrateful. There's resentment there - plenty of it.

Plenty of it on this side of the fence, too. I used to be one of Brent's most vocal supporters. I quit TimesFour during the Favre/Packers divorce proceedings, because I got tired of having to defend him (and myself) on a daily basis from the pinheaded clique that took over when Scoop left.

And now? As if seeing Brent in purple wasn't bad enough, the fact that he has some kind of vendetta against the team made him famous feels like a slap in the face to me; and to every other Packers fan who forgave him his boneheaded mistakes, glossed over his off-the-field issues and tolerated his "aw shucks, I'm just a good 'ol boy" bullshit during his time here.

I say we give our next punter a number 4 jersey.

I still don't see why people are getting bent out of shape because of the comment. Big fricken deal that he said go beat the Packers. What is he suppose to say "Hey let the Packers win because the fans booed me big time when I walked off the field"

I would much rather take a young QB that is just as good / better than an old QB that is past his prime. Also, Rodgers was on his last year of his contract. So if we had gone back to Favre, Aaron might not be here right now, and we'd be screwed for years to come.

Anyway, I'm beating a dead horse, so I'm going to stop my rant.

Favre's comment to Peppers is no big deal in itself, but it's part of a pattern, and it's not a good pattern. Stuff like this matters to fans. That's why they call us fans.

Favre hates and is bitter against Ted Thompson and hence the Packers
Favre cheated on his wife probably a million times

After this news comes out, I just don't see what's different. Just like the Sterger thing or the "text to teammates that he's done" in August, 2010, etc. This kind of stuff doesn't change what we already knew about him, so why be so insulted. You boo'd him, even had a fake funeral a year ago for him, you burned his stuff, why does he owe you anything, just like you don't owe him anyone.

The only way this should hurt is if you didn't know he had it out for the Packers before and you were somewhat still loyal to him. But I just am confused in that case that you didn't know he had it out for the Packers and wants them to lose because of TT.
