GIANTS WEEK: Wednesday practice report, the return of Rodgers

Green Bay - There appears little doubt that coach Mike McCarthy's priority this week is to get quarterback Aaron Rodgers ready for the New York Giants game.
Rodgers took almost every snap in practice during the portion that was open to the media. It's possible McCarthy will back off in the full-speed session of practice and let backup Matt Flynn take some snaps.
But if McCarthy was hedging his bet with Flynn, it wasn't apparent in the work we saw.
Rodgers appeared to have a bounce in his step. He looked a little rusty, in my opinion, but that's to be expected after a week and a half off.
Also, Rodgers appeared to be wearing the new helmet the equipment staff came up with for him, although it's hard to tell exactly what is different. It just looked a little different.
McCartny will address reporters at around 1 p.m.
As for other injury news:
* DE Cullen Jenkins (calf), S Nick Collins (ribs), LB Frank Zombo (knee) and LB Diyral Briggs (ankle) weren't practicing.
* LT Chad Clifton (knees), LB Clay Matthews (shin), DE Ryan Pickett (ankle) and CB Charles Woodson (toe) took part only in the jog-through.
Also, LB Robert Francois looked like he was getting more practice reps at outside linebacker than he normally does.
I'll update with McCarthy's comments and updates from Rodgers after practice.
Also, I'll take a look at the entire NFC playoff picture later this afternoon.
