Dear Friends,

It's Christmas time again. Where the hell did last year go? For that matter, where did the past 67 years go? Seems like just yesterday I was pushing some cute 5th grade girl into a snowbank to show her how much I liked her. She must have liked me too, as when she got up she planted one right on my cheek. It wasn't her lips though.

The year started off with a blast....err, rather a POOP. It seems our deranged kids and Grandkids decided we needed a dog again. So Amanda, our oldest grandchild got her roommate to save one Yorkie from the litter her dog had, and this was our Christmas present. I would have much rather had a drill bit set. Man those little dogs can poop! Murphi has us spoiled rotten now.

In early April I celebrated my 67 birthday........at least my wife says I did. I don't remember a thing, except for the fire department coming and something about "how many candles were on that cake?"

July saw us terrorize Glacier National Park..........again. This time for 3 whole days. As soon as we pulled up to the West Glacier entrance booth the nice lady ranger was on the phone, talking very loudly (actually screaming) that, "They're here again." We had ranger escorts the entire 3 days. Very nice hospitality. We did manage to scare several tourists with our talk about Grizzlies close by. We were actually talking about the Montana Grizzlies football team and a couple of players we saw hiking along Avalanche Lake. Dumb tourists just don't listen.

Alien Chaser daughter Teri visited in late July to see some specialists about her neck and the pain she has had. Two weeks was all she was going to stay. Did you know that there is only two weeks between July 20th and October 15th? She finally went back to New Mexico when one morning she woke up, looked outside at 3 inches of snow and 25 degree temperatures and stated "this is Bullshit. I need warm weather." If she had looked closer she would have noticed that we were the only yard with snow. Neighbor Chuck and I spent the night hauling snow from Lolo Peak and dumping it in the front yard. Worked like a charm.

We had a water leak in our front yard that we finally got fixed. The leak couldn't be out in the street, could it? No...between the curb shut-off and our house, so guess who's responsibility it is? Ours, to the tune of several thousand dollars. Luke and Crystal, neighbors directly across the street and about 10 feet lower than us, were really appreciative that we fixed the leak. Their downstairs family room is no longer a swift running trout stream. I kinda wondered where the leaking water was going. Our yard was high and dry.

Grandson Alek (Teri's son) is staying with us. He bought an old car and is now learning why most people out here have 4X4's or Subaru"s or Snow Cats. He can now dig his car out of a snowbank he slides into faster than the Old Man can change a tire in The Christmas Story. Good exercise for a young kid. Last night he came home after one of his digging episodes and stated, "Doesn't it ever stop snowing out here?" Not until June, kid.

The whole family will be here Christmas Eve and Christmas day for dinner. Hope they find the food and their presents. They don't know it yet but Donna and I booked a Christmas Cruise to Mexico. Leave the day before Christmas Eve. Boy, are they gonna be surprised.

All our kids are doing fine....we think. You know how that goes. You only hear from them when they need something...like money. I'm going to start calling them and ask for money. Ha, turnabout's fair play.

I hope the year has been good to you, and if it hasn't, blame Cheesey.

And to all of you on PackersHome have a Merry Christmas and may the new year bring you joy. And a Super Bowl win for the Pack, and a new roof for the Vikings, and a still empty Lombardi Trophy case for them, and a new truck for me, or a new ATV, and.............................

Merry Christmas!

Bob

Excellent read as always.. a true storyteller.

Glad to hear all is well and even though life throws a curve-ball here and there, you continue to roll through it with a smile and a laugh.

Happy Holidays back to you Bob and your entire family.

LOL!
Well....i got mentioned......even if it was as an "afterthought!"
Although, technically, don't you have to HAVE a thought in the first place, in order to have an "afterthought?" LOL!
Good stuff Bobberino! I was looking through some stuff and came across the photo of you and me when you came to visit back in 2006. Can you believe it's been that long? Time has flown by!
MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family, Bob!!!
