Was the Kickoff a Muff or a Called Play?

Personally, the call was just fine. The offensive lineman ended up with the football. Mason Crosby executed it to perfection. The coverage unit did not. In fact, Charlie Peprah displayed some of the worst angles in history. He had no idea what he wanted to do. He had a chance to trip him up at midfield, decided to take a different angle, and was beaten. I'm at a loss for words. He couldn't catch up to an offensive guard.

^ Add to that, Quinn Johnson tried to tackle that linemen with his head firmly down looking at the ground, hoping for a miracle because he had neither the angle nor the containment to do so.

Consequently, Quinn Johnson runs into Desmond Bishop and takes away any chance Bishop (and one of Bush or Underwood, can't exactly remember which one) had at chasing the O-linemen. I'm not exactly high on Johnson, but that play combined with Peprah's inability to tackle made me want to throw my remote at the TV.

Frankly, I hope Peprah had some injury because his effort was pathetic. Quinn Johnson needs to play more under control. At least run into a pile with your head up so you don't mistakenly take your own teammates out of a play.

It was a good decision, good kick, piss poor coverage.
