Reading this.. I like that they are a loose group, not caving to the pressure.

But in the same breath.. it kind of bothers me at the same time with the season on the line this weekend.

Your thoughts?

http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/112084769.html

~ The Packers lost in embarrassing fashion, 7-3, Sunday at Detroit.

But you couldnt find a [more] relaxed group of guys in the locker room three days later. Players were joking, laughing and approachable as usual. Other than Donald Driver mentioning that Flynn beat himself up over the red zone interception, these are the typical, confident Packers.

Even the easy going, cool Tramon Williams laughed with mild annoyance when asked yet another question about how good New England quarterback Tom Brady is playing.

We just have to go against him. Hes on the schedule. You cant dodge it! he said.

These Packers dont really see themselves as the underdog even when they are.

You say were the underdog for this game. I guess thats true. Theyre offensive line is good," said defensive lineman Jarius Wynn. "Brady is great. Were going to take it as the hand were dealt and play hard. Were going to go out and try to dominate and do what were taught.

~ The Patriots have outscored their opponents 81-10 in the last two games. Running back BenJarvis Green-Ellis hasn't fumbled in 192 touches. In the last five games, Brady has a 72% completion mark and an astronomical 132.5 passer rating. His last interception was nine games ago. The Patriots are averaging 31.9 points per game, the exact average of the 2009 Super Bowl champions, New Orleans.

What's left to do?

I know what you mean, try to generate turnovers, said linebacker Desmond Bishop. But the idea is based on the individual and certain situations. Its like a calculated gamble and thats something we do every game. I dont think its this game in particular. If you have a certain opportunity on a play, we always go for it.

I feel like we go for it every week. We practice every week, stripping the ball, said Wynn.

~ The weather for the Patriots home game could be cold and snowy.

Uh, dont tell me that, said cornerback and kick returner Sam Shields. I guess weve got to go out there and play it. Its my job. But why did you have to tell me that?

The weather certain;y did not affect the Patriots last week in Chicago.

I got cold just watching that on tape, watching the wind blow around, said defensive coordinator Dom Capers. Its pretty amazing what he can do in those conditions.

At first, it looked like it might rain and snow. I hope snow, said Jones. He was reminded that the Patriots lay very well in rotten weather. "Well weve got to end it! The team who plays the best will win. Weve played in snow before too. Thats a good thing about being out here.

I think we adjust well to the cold because even if were not practicing outside here, were in it all the time, said long snapper Brett Goode. Whether it is just walking to the car, youre body adjusts to it more quickly.

I am going to take their 'loose' attitude as a positive here and say I am glad they are the way they are. They aren't letting last weeks embarrassing loss carry over into their next game and are starting fresh for probably one of their toughest opponents on the year.

I don't like that Shields is "scared" of snow and the cold. Man up Florida boy.

Eeeehhhhhhhhhhhh.... I like that they are able to have a short memory, because that is important, but I sure as hell hope that they are keeping their eye on the prize and will be serious and intense at game time.

I think NE is a better team overall.

But I don't think they're much better.

I wouldn't be surprised if NE wins by 20 (they proved against Jets they can do this). I wouldn't be surprised if it was a close game, even with Flynn at QB. And I wouldn't be surprised if the Packers jumped out to a 17-point lead and ended up winning by 10-plus.

I don't think the latter is as likely as one of the others, but I don't think the probability is zero either.

GB is an otherwise good team with a sucky OL that can occasionally play well enough for us to forget that it is sucky.

I guess what I'm saying is that I see no reason for the Packers not to be loose.

I'm with my bro on this one. An uptight football player won't be an effective football player. Gotta play loose. What do we expect them to do all week, freak out about how poorly they played last week? I don't think that would help them focus on NE.

Thanks, I now have a headache. I've resigned myself to sheetrocking this weekend and picking up football again next week. I'm aiming low - 6th seed in the playoffs and knocking off the Falcons in a rematch of the game we should have won.

NE's defense can't compare to the Packers. Also the Packers receivers ARE better. It's Tom Brady that is the difference maker really.

If Rodgers is playing, overall I'd give the edge to the Packers. Especially if they were healthy with Finley and Jenkins.

The Pats have actually had games of terrible pass protection but Brady is great at make adjustments and getting the ball out fast.

Or maybe if they called some penalties on their pedestrian offensive line, Brady wouldn't look so fabulous. Brady's good, but the NFL benefits when the Patriots or any east coast team does well. Like usual, I don't think the Packers are going to be getting a fair shake from the men in stripes.

It's a real shame Arod will not be able to make this game if, in fact, he can't go.

We will need a monumental effort from our Oline that we actually may get since they played so pitiful last week. We also need NE to be off their game which we may get in that playing at the level they have been lately is not easy to do over and over.

I am sure NE would like to go into this huffing and puffing and full of energy but actually finding it may be harder to do.

Our Oline played it's worst game and is looking to redeem themselves and the Packers up against the wall vs. NE who is searching for reasons to keep the edge they have.

Could be interesting. Could be embarrasing. Like I say I sure wish Rodgers was healthy. If anybody can keep NE"s offense off the field it's him.
