Has a large effect on the outcome of this prediction

McCarthy says Rodgers won't practice all week
By Tom Silverstein of the Journal Sentinel

Dec. 15, 2010 1:25 p.m. |(5) Comments

Green Bay -- Packers coach Mike McCarthy said that it's very doubtful quarterback Aaron Rodgers will practice this week and that a decisioin on his status won't be made until Saturday.

McCarthy said that Dr. John Gray said it was out of the question for Rodgers to practice on Wednesday and Thursday and that his chances for Friday are "slim to none." He said he would not let the importance of the game affect his decision on whether to play Rodgers.

Backup Matt Flynn will get all of the practice reps in team drills this week and will go through an intense week of preparation so that he is fully prepared to play. Practice squad quarterback Graham Harrell may be signed to the 53-man roster, but a decision would not be made until Saturday.

In addition to not being able to practice, Rodgers will not be allowed to attend meetings or go through film study until cleared by the doctor. He did neither on Wednesday.

McCarthy said he had not talked to Rodgers Wednesday, but spoke with him extensively earlier this week.

It seems like a long shot that Rodgers will play given the timeline laid out for him. He would have no practice, little preparation and a lot of tests to pass before being cleared.

If he's cleared, it's possible that McCarthy could make Rodgers the backup and let Flynn start. But that's just speculation. Right now, it doesn't look good for Rodgers playing this week.

Have I mentioned how pissed I am at Aaron for NOT sliding after he had the first down? That's right, he's not allowed to have a mental lapse of competitiveness!

I'm starting to lose my interest in the NFL with all the changes over the last few years. Ever see the movie Demolition Man? I think that's how society is turning. You get dinged for everything and can't do anything.

I have no prediction for this game. I had this as my 'homer' pick, meaning it was a loss, but felt it was the toughest game for us so I flipped it to win.

Flynn can not wynn.

I had originally stated if we do not active Graham or bring in a QB by today, that Rodgers will start. Now, reading that they will wait until Saturday to bring him up, if they do ... guess that blows my theory out of the water and into orbital space.

It's hard for me to grasp how badly he was concussed because of my experiences with having my head bounced off brick and concrete before. Ever play smear the queer? I got murdered, ... a lot. I was never the biggest kid on the playground, err street.

I am not saying I'm tougher than Aaron Rodgers. There's no way, but I do question whether he really had a concussion, or just had his bell rung.

There's a HUGE difference between diving head first into a brick wall and having your head bounced off concrete in an NFL game, I understand that.

Maybe I'm just in denial hoping that Mike is trying to use this as a tactical advantage and fully anticipates him playing Sunday night.

The thing that scares me, is if this was a concussion and it probably was, after you've had one, the second, third, etc are substantially easier to get.

I hope for Aaron's sake it was just a bell rung and he torches the shit out of the Patriots.

Ya, I hope it was a NFL modern-day "politically correct" concussion instead of a real one.

I think I'm coining that. 😛

I was more so going with the Eagles to rib you a little. You're one of my favorites to "spar" with because you 'get my schtick' a little in that you know if I said something stupid like you're a weak pathetic old man asshole-GO ARMY!, you know I don't mean a single word of it and can laugh it off. I admire that about people who take the time to understand me, (or maybe jus dont care what i say lol) because I wish I had that ability to do consistently.

And I could never muster myself to even type the words about that other team winning, or wanting them to win. The best I could say is I hope the Eagles lose. I'm lame like that.
