down by 4 with under 2 min. to go, your 4th and 1, why do you throw it down field with a qb that has no experience, why dont you just get the 1st down all you need is a yard !! i dont badmouth my team or coach but mike mac , this one is on you !!

Couple of points.

1.. As noted above.. 4th and short.. defense pulled up to the LOS.. lack of deep help as they are thinking short.. gotta like the odds.

2. Thought maybe they could get a PI call.

3. It was an aggressive kill shot.. personally I like the thought..

I don't mind an aggressive kill shot on like 1st or 2nd down but when you need just 1 yard and have a ton of time left it's just dumb.

You don't have to like the odds, it wasn't just Jennings 1 on 1 with Vasher. It was Jennings 1 on 1 with Vasher getting a pass from Flynn who had been inaccurate on every single downfield throw the entire game.

The safety was pretty deep and the middle of the field was wide open. (In case you believed throwing the ball was ABSOLUTELY necessary)

The play call sucked. 4 WR in the pattern. Two 2 yard outs which are extremely hard to complete becuase the DB can undercut the route easily. And the other two were both go routes. Having Jennings run deep isn't that bad alone, but combined with the rest of the routes it was terrible play call with a backup off the bench.

Run 1 deep, 1 out, and 4 and 7 yard crossing or drag routes. Bootleg flynn out with Quarless out in front, that worked and with only 1 yard needed gives Flynn a good shot at running for it.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Trying to make an argument for it.. passing at all.. of course I would rather line up and run the damn ball.. but in Green Bay.. that isn't how things are done. ;)

If you are going to pass.. why not go deep.

So would it if you throw it for 5 yards.. but hell I want the run option.

I hated the call too. Flynn had been inaccurate with his deep throws all day. It's not a choice between two yard patterns and fly patterns. They could've run any number of routes in between that would not have required an accurate deep throw by Flynn. I thought the throw on the play before, on third and one, was also too far downfield (maybe 10-15 yards, incomplete to Driver). McCarthy has done too much of that this season, usually without success.
