Obviously any mention of another possible injury gets attention after the year we have had. This team has not only had a significant number of players go on IR we have had a few that didn't even look that bad and the next thing you know they are done for the year.
IMO I think remaining as healthy as we are which includes getting Jenkins back quickly is the most critical component in how much success we have from here on out.
I think our tolerance level for plugging anymore players in for injuries has about reached a peak. The Packers have been very fortunate to get the level of play from guys that really haven't had much NFL experience. You look at Shields, Bishop, Zombo, Bulaga, Quarles, and even Jackson taking over a much larger role at RB and you have to take your hat off to those guys.
BUT, you can only go so deep and the level of play will begin to suffer. The injuries have definately taken a toll from the standpoint that the team is skating a pretty darn good program but the ice they are on is mighty thin.
So, for me, when I hear McCarthy say "so-and-so" had to leave practice it gets my attention. When we won the last SB I felt that team was extremely deep and going through the playoffs if someone went down we had quality players that could step in with the exceptions being Favre and Reggie. You can't replace guys like that.
That's not how it is as it stands today. We don't have the roster from the beginning of the year so many thought gave this team a great shot at winning it all and are very fortunate so far to have overcome all this and still mention the Packers as one of the best in the NFC.
I just hope the same 45 is out there five weeks from now. IF it is they have proven they can take any team down to the wire.
