Here's the Link The Detroit Lions are expected to announce the loss of two defensive starters Wednesday as defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch and cornerback Alphonso Smith are set for season-ending surgeries, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Vanden Bosch, 32, has a bulging disk in his neck, while Smith has a recurrent subluxation of his right shoulder.
Smith dislocated his shoulder on the final drive of Sundays 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears.
The Lions signed cornerback Prince Miller off the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad to fill Smith's roster spot.
Smith led the Lions with five interceptions, while Vanden Bosch was second on the team with four sacks.
