I think Francois got a lot of playing time in the preseason and looked decent. He's the guy who creamed Joseph Addai and gave him a concussion on that fumble return (it was a clean hit).

Too bad these new guys both got crummy numbers in the 40s. Unfortunately, the Packers have been through so many linebackers this year that they've run out of numbers in the 50s. We've got another linebacker who is number 93, which is a good number overall, but weird for a linebacker.

I love numbers in the 90s... for OLBs. Walden's 93 looks pretty good. Jeremy Thompson's 99 looked pretty good on him, as well. 74 on Kampman, not so much, but numbers in the 70s are real O-line and D-line numbers.

You make a good point about Jeremy Thompson's 99. It did look pretty cool. I'm not even a fan of 99 on defensive linemen (it seems silly, like they're saying "I'm the biggest guy!"), but it worked for Thompson as an LB. Then there was Bryce Paup, of course--number 95. He single-handedly made numbers in the 90s safe for LBs. The difference with Walden is that he's an unknown player and he probably had to take the number just because they ran out of 50s. If he starts playing well, the 93 will look a lot better on him.

I remember a Middle Linebacker that filled out 91 very well.

Don't have a clue, either.

I do know that Hunter Hillenmeyer's number 92 looks very much out of place when he's subbing in as a MLB. 90s just don't look good on inside guys.

Once again I'm chuckling at all the people who were so distraught that the Packers cut Havner this preseason.

Thanks. I thought of it as soon as I got to work. I didn't see the Packers play much in the late 80s and early 90s, as I was living far from home and did not know about sports bars.

I can understand why people questioned the move, and it's not like Donald Lee and Tom Crabtree have been tearing up the league this year. So I don't know what there is to chuckle about.

...Recently added players Robert Francois and Josh Gordy are two who could see action Sunday. Francois, as you probably remember, made the fateful formation error on a punt that gave Miami new life and allowed them to score a touchdown instead of giving up the ball.

French, you say? :tongue3: :signeek:

dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
