If the Packers beat the Bears and Giants to close out the season, they're probably the No. 2 seed in the NFC. They would hold tiebreakers over both the Giants and Eagles. I also suspect that they would win the division with 11 or 12 wins.

So, yeah, I am still very much into this season.

Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed with this season. As is predictable, because it happens every season, we lose a bunch of games early that we clearly should not have lost. Will this happen next year too? Probably.
MM says we don't "start slow," because he breaks the season into 4 game sections. So we start out ok, then in games 5-8, we find a way back to .500.
This year, we needed to shut the Bears down. FAIL. At least we exorcized the Favre demons. Definitely something to be said for that. Also, we found out what kind of depth we had at some key positions. Bishop, for one. Peprah, Zombo. Jackson. (For good or for bad.) I bet we'll find out what we've got in Starks before it's all done. Looking forward to that.
Bulaga has looked good. There is no reason on earth that this offense shouldn't be the freakiest show on turf. I suppose a RB would help that.
Keep in mind next year, we'll have an elite rookie OLB and RB. And yes, you can mark that down.

Let's not forget an important fact. Every game we lost this season was by a FG, either in OT or in the last 10 seconds of the game.

We haven't been blown out once. The Pats, who may be the best team in the league right now, have.

We've blown out the Bills, the Cows, and the Vikings. We've shut out the Jets, who is the other team who may be the best team in the NFL. We almost beat the Falcons who may be the best team in the NFC.

This is a solid team. We're in the top 8 fo shizzle, possibly in the top 5. We got a good shot at winning it all. My big regret about the year is we didn't have a Vegas trip. Really wish I had put some money on the Packers this year.

If you had asked this question a month ago, I would have said "2011."

But I'm starting to get playoff fever. A month ago I was thinking this was an one-and-out team at the best, and I wasn't ready to be disappointed. But now I think this team can play with any team in the NFC.

I still have my fingers crossed regarding the OL. But this may be the kind of year that you can get by without having confidence in being able to run on 3rd and 2. None of the contenders in the NFC are without similar or bigger levels of questions.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Agreed. I have yet to see a team Green Bay cannot play with. The Falcons are the class of the NFC. They will most likely earn the top seed. Their schedule is very favorable and 12 to 13 wins is plausible.

But the No. 2 seed is held by the Chicago Bears right now. The other contenders are the Giants and Eagles. Green Bay has beaten the Eagles and they get the Giants and Bears at Lambeau. Right now, the Packers are in excellent shape to earn the No. 2 seed if they take care of business in four of their five games IMO.

Remember, Philly has to play Dallas twice and that is no easy task. The Bears have road games against Green Bay and I don't count Minnesota out from wanting to knock them down either.

This season still looks promising.

Dulak - you're living in England. People there know how to drive in the rain. People here don't. There will be an accident then bumper-to-bumper traffic. So that's why I prefer to go in the Summer to Vegas.

I also don't want to do it online because any excuse to going to Vegas is a good excuse. 😉 Love that place. It's everything in excess, cheesy, over the top, and so wrong it's fun.

Don't believe the drama queens in the media. There will be a season. The question is when will it start. We may have to wait until October, but we'll have a season.

During yesterday's depressing display of our inability to complete any long drives on offense, this question that I posted came to mind as it was becoming apparent that this was going to be a Lions game to lose and were weren't going to get it done. As much as reality setting in on 2010 saddens us, all I can do is recognize where the Packers are. I'm still sticking with being more excited for 2011 no matter how you spin it.
