Which are you looking forward to more? The remainder of this season, or the entire next season?

I am going to enjoy the rest of this season as the drama for the NFC north champions is clearly laid out before us, yet with the injuries that we're suffering that should be cleared up before the 2011 season, I gotta tell you that I'm actually more excited for the Packers next year.

2010
I think the NFC north is ours to lose. The our games against the Vikings and Bears could become clear decision makers. I would love for us to have enough wins by the last game in the season that the Pack/Bears game in Jan won't matter and that we've already clinched.

2011
If we get Finley, Grant, Barnett back and they're all playing as well as they have been, (add in a draftee) and 2011 has got a lot of up side for the Packers. The Vikings and Bears will remain on the QB carousel and it's possible that the Lions might be our only competition in the NFC north. Will the Vikings' melt down require years to rebuild? How will Cutler fare in Chicago? Will they drag him along for a few years due to no better options? The Vikings' lines (both O and D) about old and on the decline. The Bears have some talent, yet comparably, the Packers have a LOT fewer gaps going into the off season. As much crap as Thompson gets, he's the best offseason 'player getter' (in the NFC North) when it comes to getting performance on the field (read that as drafting or Free Agency). So all in all, I am more excited about next year even though things are going in the right direction for us now. The youth of the Packers has us far away from the Vikings position of 'now or never".

Why would I worry about next season while this season is still in progress?

Wow. That is a GREAT question. I would say that how this season turns out will greatly dictate how next season goes. For instance, would we be as strong this season if we hadn't done so well at the end of last season? Probably not. Confidence is sooooo important in this league. Look at the Cowboys. With Romo in, where do they have deficits? Maybe in the secondary? They have incredible talent on their team, but their lack of confident is like a cancer. I think that if we finish off this season strong, next season will be all the better.

SO, to answer the question, I am looking forward more to how this season turns out, as it will play a major role on how next season goes for us.

I kind of agree with that. Being more excited about next season sounds an awful lot like you're giving up on this season. And this is certainly not a season to be given up on.

Ditto. The season is what we live for, and our team is in the hunt. It is time to live in the moment. There's no reason to think about next year right now unless you are a fan of the Bills or Cowboys.

We're gonna be the team of the decade. It won't matter.

But I'm more excited about the end of this season, because I doubt Woodson will be all that awesome next season. Just me though.
