Except it wasn't a game-winning drive.

Yes, although Mike McCarthy could have made it one. Fans would have crucified him had the attempt failed, but I would have loved to see it tried.

As did I. Matt Ryan is one of the most clutch QBs in the game. If he played for New York or Dallas, the media would have him in the Hall of Fame by now.

Matt did nothing special in this game.

Agreed. Look at the numbers. To say he had a "clutch performance" is seriously stretching the limits of credulity.

He passed for a total of 197 yards. His final, "clutch" drive, which started wtih 56 seconds on the clock on the Green Bay 49 yard line, looked like this:

Pass short right for 9 yards
Pass short left for 4 yards
Pass short left for 4 yards
Pass short left for 3 yards

Grand total of 20 yards, starting inside Green Bay territory. What's so clutch about that?

I think Matt is an excellent QB, but his performance against the Bears a couple years ago, that was clutch. Today, was not clutch.

You don't need to go down the field to be special. It's all about knowing the situation and doing what is needed to win. Ryan does that on a weekly basis. He was excellent on third down in this game and completed all but one pass in the second half. Ryan let the game come to him today because that is what was needed to win.

Against Baltimore, he had to do a whole lot more.

The mark of a great player is somebody who can adapt to any situation. Matt Ryan does that. I have always been impressed with watching him.

He was 24 of 28 for 197 yards, a TD, and no turnovers. Not spectacular, but very, very efficient. He seems very cool under pressure as well. I was impressed.
